Wind, solar and bio-energy account for 6.3 per cent of total electricity generated in the province, but 16.3 per cent of the total generation cost, according to the auditor general's recent investigation into hydro price. Auditor Bonnie Lysyk criticized the government for offering overly generous contracts when it launched its big green energy push in 2009. Despite shifting gears to a competitive bidding process, the auditor found that in 2014, Ontario was still paying "double the market price for wind and 3½ times the market price for solar energy."

Actually, I forget which Government it was that signed a long term contract with the northern states, to sell all of our surplus power at a fixed rate which now is now lower than cost....
Add to that the new smart meters that are basically good for the individual consumer to save money, but the "catch" is that if we reduce our hydro use, we just have more to sell at a loss....
Which we have to pay for with our income tax....then if you add green energy subsidies, we loose three different ways....
Rejoice and take the grandkids on a 120km 1 charge tour of the local environment you've saved.
You seem to have it in for Ontario, a province that has hardly any green energy at all by world standards. I'd be looking at the failed nuclear industry in that province if I were you.

Sadly while all the technically smart people are knuckling it around cause our asses and legs have like fallen off all over the floor...from too much RAOTFLOAO...
