What do you mean? I'm an old stock Canadian, or as much so as most people still alive!
A few elections back, the governing Liberals were trying to scare us about the ultra right Conservatives and how Canada was going to turn out like the Handmaid's Tale. Now the Conservatives are trying to scare us into believing that if they and only they are not in power, we will have an economy like Greece. Fortunately, most Canadians are thoughtful centerists that, I hope, will not keep buying into some propagandist's fear mongering. It is well, ... unCanadian to be polarized in such a manner. We are learning bad habits from other, less well governed jurisdictions.
Curious has a point. Every time we are goaded into an election it's the same ol same ol rhetoric, "The Cons do this ..." "the Glibs do that .... " blah blah blah "we will make heaven in Canada for you all" ... blah blah blah.
We're stuck in the same sort of rut folks south of the border are. Either this or that. Every time it's the same old parties repeating the same old platforms.
A Mr. Unknown once said, "It is amazing how much wisdom has been handed down through the ages, yet we still make the same mistakes."
I think Einstein had it wrong; I think he SHOULD have said, "Stupidity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results".

Perhaps so but if we suddenly stop having elections and you loose that precious ability to throw people out of power, you will end up living in REALLY BAD place ... one that most certainly WILL NOT allow you to whine about this and that on the internet.
Every place that I can think of without the "bunch of bullhit" of electing governments are hellish nightmares for most of there citizens. Thank your lucky stars that you have a vote.
I absolutely agree with voting, what comes out of a candidates mouth often persuades me to vote for someone else!
Back in the day Labatt's Blue was generally my drink of choice- now it's decaf coffee.
