Science may not be looking for god but I think it has been looking at god without realizing it. When I look at an atomic structure, I see planetary systems and when I look at galaxies, I see something akin to molecular structures. I think the Universe is self creating and quite possibly a conscious, sentient being, the magnitude is so far beyond human comprehension that all one can say about it is that it just is. I think that is what god is, not some separate entity that created humans for its own entertainment. Humans are like quarks on an electron amongst an infinite number of electrons (numbers so big that it is impossible to imagine).Science isn't looking for god.
Just enough that my coat comes off. It's not rocket science- how far does the sun shining on you move you? -![]()
Good because it can't find it's as$ with both hands.Science isn't looking for god.
Cliff. Ya nailed it. It's like looking for a flashlight in the dark using the flashlight you're looking for it with.Science may not be looking for god but I think it has been looking at god without realizing it..
Seriously? Gravity dominates the large scale structure over electromagnetism because things at that scale are electrically neutral.

I see the biosphere as a living organism of which we are a small part. I think that organism has consciousness and that is far beyond our ability to comprehend with our finite capabilities. Hell, we can't even understand ourselves, so how people think they can comprehend the all that is, is completely ludicrous. But some people can't handle being insignificant and so have to invent a god that cares about them.
Manitou.....great idea. A weekend at the spa with my woman would be stellar.

I have some questions for the god botherers: Do you give any thought to the quark on the electrons on one of the atoms in your body? Do you think a quark in your body has any way to comprehend the entirety of you body? Do you think it is capable of being conscious of the entirety of your body? Do you really think you can comprehend the infinite? God is an abstract belief in your world view. It has no basis in any reality and your book is a collection of abstract thoughts laid down thousands of years ago by people who could not possibly have been capable of anything else but abstract thoughts on the incomprehensible. The bible is the results of mental masturbation by primitive peoples. Why do you believe it is something it is not?Science may not be looking for god but I think it has been looking at god without realizing it. Dexter Sinister, remember, is from the Latin for Right Left. I'm a pragmatic right and left winger, supporting whatever ideas seem correct to me regardless of where they fall on any artificial political spectrum.I took you for more of a left winger.
Only in the sense that I'm interested in knowing what's true.I think he is a truther.

Metaphor, dude. Metaphor. I used quarks because, so far, it is the smallest thing in quantum theory that I know. I also say we are the Who that Horton hears. I understand that you are a deep thinker but remember this, enlightenment does not come to those who take things too seriously. Enlightenment is lightness of spirit. Or as my late best friend once said, "Life is but a joke and the joke is on you." People who take life seriously will just have to repeat the journey until they learn to "lighten up, eh!"Quarks are mental masterbation by today;s primitive particle fizzisists, an intellectual candidate for their all powerful material god.
CLiffy, you are the one that is going to be bothered when standing before the judgement with your notions, trinkets, idols, quarks, blasphemes and "knowledge". You will come to instruct God but will be rudely awakened.I have some questions for the god botherers: Do you give any thought to the quark on the electrons on one of the atoms in your body?
