"Lighten up, eh!" God loves laughter.
No sh*t. Look at the platypus.

Only in the sense that I'm interested in knowing what's true.
Everything Is Meaningless

1 The words of the Teacher,[a] son of David, king in Jerusalem:
2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!”
says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.”

3 What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?
4 Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.
5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.
6 The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.
7 All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
there they return again.
8 All things are wearisome,
more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9 What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say,
“Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.
11 No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.

Wisdom Is Meaningless

12 I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind! 14 I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
15 What is crooked cannot be straightened;
what is lacking cannot be counted.

16 I said to myself, “Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.” 17 Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.
18 For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief.

I'll lighten up, Cliffy. What I need to do is to get you in the backyard. Sit ya down in a lawn chair. We can watch Frank jump from tree to tree with no net while Alfredo snacks on the peanut butter toast I give him. God loves ya dude. Why not go crazy and just consider his salvation for you. Maybe it might be kind of nice to not contemplate the quarks, electricity and whatever else we deep thinkers come up with.

Perhaps some have missed my previous post which would make this current post all very odd.

Alfredo is a chipmunk I befriended and Frank is our friend the squirrel.

I know my creator very well and I have no worries about the afterlife. I don't need salvation as defined by biblical dogma. My relationship with the divine is very strong and my spiritual experiences have been both profound and enlightening (as in "lighten up".) Because they don't fit into your dogmatic views doesn't mean they are not valid, just different.

What dogma? The one that says come to grips with who you are and what you've done in life and all is forgiven?

Live as though there is no afterlife (because, frankly there likely isn't), and protect our planet. It is not to be pissed on because of the remote chance of Elysian Fields. Our children and grandchildren will not have any other choice either!

I have no problem with that. I talking about the dogma that says there is only one way and that is their way to salvation.

Most people chose the blue pill. I chose the red one.
I'm not a born yesterday so there is no one way to salvation.

Life's fulla sacrifices. I'll accept the knowledge and grief rather than the ignorance and bliss. (BTW, ignorance isn't bliss. That's a myth as unfortunately for the myth, I am happy with my knowledge and strive for more. Also, I am a fool on occasion and being wise is preferable).
BTW, isn't your god sposed to be all-wise and all-knowing? Calling the traits of a god "meaningless" and what nit supposedly built "meaningless" isn't being wise either.

Metaphor, dude. Metaphor. I used quarks because, so far, it is the smallest thing in quantum theory that I know. I also say we are the Who that Horton hears. I understand that you are a deep thinker but remember this, enlightenment does not come to those who take things too seriously. Enlightenment is lightness of spirit. Or as my late best friend once said, "Life is but a joke and the joke is on you." People who take life seriously will just have to repeat the journey until they learn to "lighten up, eh!"

Can't read your face or count your inhalations or smell you, so I'm blind. Enlightenment is knowledge they say, I'm not yet enlightened, if ever to be, so I can't tell anyone how to get there. All I can do is pass along rumours when I hear them. Life is what you make of it. Enlightenment is, at once, as much darkness of spirit as lightness of spirit. I know cuz I take the joke in me seriously. I will lighten up when the sun shines and not a minute before. There are many trails to the happy hunting grounds, I can't fault yours, you might get there or I might or we both might or we could both be consumed by dragons along the way.

lol Your signature is a quote from Buddha yet you believe dragons are nasty as in the western views? Eastern philosophy, legend, and myth says dragons are protectors and are good luck. Buddha was an eastern man. ;)

I find the best defence against dragons is kicking them in the nuts, and when they scream pissing in their mouths. It's called the knight's gambit.
