Actually it's not. The city council (of which I only voted for or against one) decided to remove a mayor that I voted for. True democracy would let me the voter make that determination on election day.
I fully support a recall of ANY politician as long as it is a vote of all citizens (under their jurisdiction) and not some left wing nutter elite. Those yahoos who gather at nathan phillips square do not represent me. Let the people decide if a recall is warrented and then have a bi-election if it is granted. Perhaps we can recall Priemier Wyne about the gas plants while we are at it.

This is not a left vs right thing. Councillors of all political affiliation voted to remove his powers and budget.
People shouldn't be elected and then have 0 accountability to anyone for 4 years. Kathleen Wyne can be removed as Premier any day if she loses the confidence of the legislature or her party removes her as leader. Right now, any time that the NDP or and PCs want to force an election, they can.
I would love there to be a way to hold a recall election for Ford, but in the absence of that power, there can't just be 0 accountability.

There are lots of possible reasons that people would no longer want a person to serve as their mayor. In a democracy we should have that choice.
