Truthfully, in many dozens of visits to the U.S. sometimes for as long as two weeks at a time, I don't recall EVER seeing anything like that. However I've only travelled in eleven U.S. states, so you could be right.
The Obama administration has equated conservatives with terrorists like Al Qaeda. In other words the administration considers conservatives to be no different than America's most implacable foreign enemies.

The Republican party only came into existence around 1850. It is not a couple of hundred years old. It used to be America's left wing party.
