Baloney.

The reason the second amendment is exists is so that the whole of the people (the militia) stay armed to prevent the rise of tyranny. I suggest you read a little history.

I would make the same suggestion to the justices of the SCOTUS

I have read lots. You are almost right. The reason behind the second was to prevent state governments from disarming the national militia and leaving America vulnerable to invasion from European powers. If you are claiming to be a legal expert you should have no difficulty citing me case law to support your position. Just use the standard case cite, I can take it from there.

The second is the prevent tyranny of Government.

When the Gun Law was created in 1968 it was intended to prevent the Black Panthers and others from arming themselves against government tyranny. The courts have given their blessings to that law. To this day police in NYC and punks like sheriff Arpaio continue to harass minorities - God help anyone of those victims if they asserted their 2d Amendment rights and used guns against those government criminals.

That is a wide collective belief. It is especially loved by gun manufacturers because it creates a sense of personal ownership in the desire to own their products. But it is not law. When the US Constitution was written the colonies had just finished rebelling against a major European power. The other European monarchies were as hostile to the existence of America as the capitalists in 1917 were to the existence of Communist Russia. That was the world America faced in 1780. There is no way the new Congress was going to write a law making every American male an additional armed power. The 2nd was passed to prevent state governments from outlawing men to fill the federal militias.

Does anybody really think that the US gun crowd could stand up to US governments? There is not a chance. In case nobody noticed, the US military just finished using Iraq as a practice run in disarming a civil population. America recently ordered APC's for civil police departments, and other websites have been full of Americans asking why the Obama government just ordered five billion rounds of 9 mm ammunition.

Quite apart from anything else, the US civil population is not going to put its jobs, condos, stereos and cars at risk to defend gun nuts. Gun nuts are a loud minority backed by a wealthy gun lobby, nothing more. If push ever comes to shove you are not going to see the CEOs of Winchester or the NRA manning the barricades with gun in hand. They are all mouth and money, and if the internal balloon ever goes up in America they will run for their lawyers and protect their pensions.

WRONG.

The US Code....first learn what it is:

United States Code - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Militia in the US Code:

(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are— (1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

In other words, every male in the USA between 17 and 45 is part of the militia.........the militia are the people, and the people are the militia.....and "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed".

BTW, tell the Syrians, the Taliban, or even the old Viet Cong that you can't stand up to a modern power with small arms..........

Do those sound like the words of men who were in it for their own benefit? Yes or no?

“A free people ought...to be armed”
George Washington

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
Thomas Jefferson

“The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.”
Thomas Jefferson

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
Thomas Jefferson,

“Disarm the people- that is the best and most effective
way to enslave them.”
James Madison

“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
James Madison,

“The constitution shall never be construed...to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.”
Alexander Hamilton

“[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation (where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”
James Madison

“Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good.”
George Washington

“A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves... and include all men capable of bearing arms.”
Richard Henry Lee

Your position is not logical....... I believe they kill because they have the guns, not the other way around.

You believe that they kill simply because of the influence guns have over them? I'd love to see some stats backing that up.
Being around guns drives you to mass murder? That's a MASSIVE assertion you'll need to back up more strenuously than simply 'Americans suck'.

Yeah, that's bullsh*t Karrie, it's the nut behind the gun! I believe gun ownership has to be restricted but only because you can't outlaw people.

I never stopped doing 'girl things'. It's amazing, but, most human beings are capable of being a multitude of things simultaneously. Unlike you, who apparently got stuck up your own *** and can't find your way out.

Enjoy your day.

No, I know what the problem is DaS, I've had that happen with a few sites. You need to go into your internet settings, and lower the iq threshold.
