41 is still "wet behind the ears" -:)

The Brits have had a 24 year old PM before. Alexander the Great conquered quite a bit of territory by 30. Isaac Newton invented calculus and did most of his scientific work while in his 20s. The "greatest generation" did most of their great work in their teens and 20s. When our lifespan is extended to say 150-200 years then I may be able to go along with 41 being 'wet behind the ears.' If he dies at the current life expectancy for a man in Canada then he has already passed the halfway mark.

He wanted to keep that $20 grand, which means he can't be as rich as we think. I mean, what's that to a rich guy these days? Depends on what you mean by rich, of course.

Rich guys are the worst penny pinchers, that's how they got rich. It's a sickness. I recognize it a little in myself although I'm by no means rich. I just can not tolerate what I consider waste. When we were kids we had enough to eat so long as we didn't throw out anything that was edible. You don't lose that trait. Now I doubt if young Trudeau was ever in that poverty bracket. (Or close to it) -:)

Where did people get the idea that he's rich?

Growing up at Sussex drive might be my first clue! -:)

Yep, it doesn't take any Philadelphia lawyer to figure that one out. He's still wet behind the ears!

and you're still brain dead taking things at face value. Let's look at the entire quote rather than one sentence taken out of context.

"Justin Trudeau was describing his father’s beliefs, not his own, as they pertained to separatists and their demands for special treatment. Here’s the entire quote:
His philosophy, certainly as he passed it on to us, has always been Quebeckers are better than the rest of Canada because we’re Quebeckers or whatever — I mean, this idea that a lot more of us are bilingual, bi-cultural. There’s a lot more awareness of the rest and that’s a richness. Who’s to say that we should need special protection or special deals or special allowances that make us protected?"

Trudeau: Omar Khadr should be treated like 'any Canadian'

HALIFAX — Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau isn't ruling out compensation for Omar Khadr for the time the convicted terrorist served in Guantanamo Bay.

"Omar Khadr needs to be treated the way we treat Canadians according to the rules that exist, according to the laws and principles that govern," said Trudeau, adding the former teen soldier should be treated like "any Canadian who as been incarcerated outside of the country.”

"We need to be fair to the way we treat Canadians, and if people don't like the way the laws are now, well then, they need to change them," Trudeau said.

Trudeau made the remarks in Halifax Friday during a Nova Scotia tour supporting provincial Liberal Leader Stephen McNeil in a yet-to-be-called election.

"Justin Trudeau is in way over his head if he thinks convicted terrorist Omar Ahmed Khadr should get special compensation,” Steven Blaney told QMI Agency.

Khadr went to Afghanistan to fight for the Taliban after the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

The then 15-year-old was captured in Afghanistan 2002 by U.S. soldiers after he threw a grenade and killed U.S. Army medic Christopher Speer.

Khadr, who was born in Toronto, pleaded guilty to murder and terrorism as part of a plea deal in 2010 for his war crimes.

He is now serving time in Edmonton where he is eligible for day parole.

In June 2010, the Supreme Court of Canada unanimously ruled Khadr's rights had been violated while being held in the American detention centre, opening

Try and keep up with the thread on this, m'kay?

I know it goes pretty fast here, but if you really dig down deep and apply yourself, you might not look the fool:lol::lol:

Speaking of following your own words, you and the other on board Tory Spinmeisters still haven't explained Mr. Harpers and his 'Alberta colleague's'
deafening silence when the Bush Administration closed the borders to the Canadian LAAS program, bankrupting at least three Canadian manufacturing firms.....

Still waiting for an answer, CM , Colpy, Boomer et all....Crickets crickets crickets....

The US is a democracy too. How did the Union react when Texas seceded from the US?

1. Secession is not illegal in America in the sense that it has never been legally tried. The US Civil War started when South Carolina opened fire first. I'm not necessarily saying the US would permit a legal secession if it was tried. They seem incapable of resolving anything without a gun. But legal secession has never been tried because the South tried guns instead.

2. Texas secession had little to do with starting the Civil War. Texas has it right in their agreement to join the US that it is allowed to secede.

Back to Canada. IMO Trudeau showed himself to be possessed of poor national judgment when he tried the marijuana issue as an opening shot. I agree with him on the actual issue of legalizing mj, but to stake a prime ministership on it by making it part of his opening national shots was immature. As much as I thought I would never hear myself say it, the federal NDP will get some of my attention unless things change. The conservatives are too American and too close to business to be entrusted with the governance of people, and they've been in power too long. The Liberals are too dilettante. We have wandered far enough right - it is time to wander back left.

I do believe that would be an oxymoron.

This anti-French rhetoric sounds like pandering to Yanks. America got its **** in a knot when France quite properly told the US "no" after 9-11. Many others told the US "no" at the same time including Canada.

Don't think Quebeckers can fight? Try taking on the Van Doos.
