They are nuts in the States. The head of the NRA went on television last week calling for the arming of all teachers in the classroom.
It's the culture of guns that gives the U.S. the highest murder and gun violence rate in the developed world. This has nothing to do with the right to own hunting rifles.. it has all come down to the right to own military assault weapons with extended ammunition clips.. that don't even make sense for home defense. The owner would be as likely blow apart his family and responding police for a rustle of leaves in the back yard as deter a thief. There have been several incidents of homeowners blowing away paper boys.. or their own kids.. assuming they were under armed attack.
The same ethos that produced the Tea Party is behind the gun lobby. A paranoid delusion that vast forces are arrayed against the 'defenseless' American family.. from which the only John Wayne individualism of the home fortress.. free of taxation and regulation and armed to the teeth can defend.
Rabid economic and social libertarianism is destroying the American economy and society.. and allowing psychos to roam schools and work places.. looking for payback for a wasted life.. and 15 minutes of fame.
Still haven't a clue what a "military assault rifle" is, huh?
Perhaps if your mind and personality crawled out of the 17th century ..........
This guy feels that gun makers should go to jail when their guns kill people and I agree.
Guns kill people
So do subway trains, cars, bathtubs, rocks, knives, old age, diseases, sudden stops after long falls, hospitals, etc. ad nauseum.
If I get a holiday out of this, so be it, but I just have to reiterate an observation I've noticed about you many times: FRACK you say some of the stupidest sh|t.
I'm for a nice deer stalker.. Kimber or Browning.. .270, 130 grain.. bolt action, magazine capacity 3.. well crafted in wood and steel.. bought for the most part by honest outdoors enthusiasts.
Adequate.
Only drooling idiots with severe personality disorders buy AR 15s with 30 round clips of .45 or .50 hollow point.. as they are virtually useless for hunting.
lmao An AR-15 chambered in aught 50? That's freakin hilarious. 30 round clip in aught 50? Even more hilarious. Thompson came out with a submachine gun chambered for .45 caliber handgun ammo. He made the
magazine rotary because the usual 50 round magazine would have reached down to his freakin knees. Clips don't come in rotary and doesn't usually hold very many rounds because they are not spring-loaded or stagger the rounds.
Ignorance ain't bliss - it's comedy.
But they are the NRAs most enthusiastic supporters.. and they see their neighbourhood as a war zone, in fact a free fire zone.. driven on by computer game fantasies.
<--- Ignorant assumption.
I'd refuse your app. for a firearm in a nanosecond.
Well if you look critically at the Second Amendment in the context of the time it was written it had nothing to do with gun rights.. it dealt with the right of communities to form citizen militias.. as bulwark against tyranny. It all got deformed into an unrestricted right to bear ANY arms much later.
So? Didja miss the definition of AMENDment sometime?
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state,
the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Personaly, I.m not a spray and pray you hit the target kind of guy, I was taught at a young age to make every shot count.
Sensible and cost-effective.
Must be the reason I prefer revolver, pump or lever action to semi-auto, and have never fired a full auto firearm.;-)
lol Like my dad used to say, "How do you know you don't like it till you tried it?"
Calling to deport someone because you happen to disagree with their retarded view speaks volumes about silencing. <----Damn! Read that again, it is an enigma of language rolled up in a double entendre like a god danged pig in a blanket or a pizza with hot dog in the crust. Damn! I got a stiffy!
lmao You rock, Mark.
Not all Americans are ingorant to the political goings on outside their borders, especially when it might affect them. They know, as do we whom it affects, that most restrictions are generally inefective. Up until 40 to 50 years ago it was accepted that you were free to do that which was not prohibited by law. We have since been "progressing" to a more Euopean, (namely French) model where you are free to to that which is allowed by law. In Canada we didn't have an epidemic firearm problem but restricted the ownership of handguns anyway. There was what could be called a crime epidemic born out of prohibition, caused by the government itself. But you could still apply for and generally recieve a permit to own and carry a pistol, which was still not that hard to do into the Mulroney era, (a number of his cabinet members were known to carry). This is all but impossible now. We had the FAC system, then licensing, registration, and a continually progressing list of restrictions.
The UK and Australia had even more draconian legislation enacted. The problem is that the restrictions do not work in effecting any positive change in crime rates, (and is often counterproductive), which ultimately begets more restrictive legislation, leading up to outright bans. What it does do is perpetuate a polarized us vs. them mindset that permeates the national phsyche which poisons all rational thought and debate, which did not start with and is not limited to just firearms.
Yeah, it snowballs.
