One protester was quoted saying the US must pass a law banning blasphemy.

Section 36. Whoever wilfully blasphemes the holy name of God by denying, cursing or contumeliously reproaching God, his creation, government or final judging of the world, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching Jesus Christ or the Holy Ghost, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching or exposing to contempt and ridicule, the holy word of God contained in the holy scriptures shall be punished by imprisonment in jail for not more than one year or by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, and may also be bound to good behavior.

Funny stuff. I wonder how they'd prove the "contumelious" part.

Great find!

Edit... I just checked. This was written in 1697 in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. It would not stand up in any challenge as history shows.

We just need to start going back to Colonial Era Laws.

Actually there is more to that than most may think. Apparently a lot of them are protesting the fact that the USA does not have such a law or prohibition that would enable the authorities to charge the producers of the movie.

As I heard the other day, they think that dissing any religion should not be allowed and they don't understand what the USA , and most other countries have, that being Freedom of Speech.

They feel freedom of speech should not include blasphemy against religions.

I disagree but that could be because I don't have the delusions to be religious..............

“We never insult any prophet — not Moses, not Jesus — so why can’t we demand that Muhammad be respected?” Mr. Ali, a 39-year-old textile worker said, holding up a handwritten sign in English that read “Shut Up America.” “Obama is the president, so he should have to apologize!”

When the protests against an American-made online video mocking the Prophet Muhammad exploded in about 20 countries, the source of the rage was more than just religious sensitivity, political demagogy or resentment of Washington, protesters and their sympathizers here said. It was also a demand that many of them described with the word “freedom,” although in a context very different from the term’s use in the individualistic West: the right of a community, whether Muslim, Christian or Jewish, to be free from grave insult to its identity and values.

“We want these countries to understand that they need to take into consideration the people, and not just the governments,” said Ismail Mohamed, 42, a religious scholar who once was an imam in Germany. “We don’t think that depictions of the prophets are freedom of expression. We think it is an offense against our rights,” he said, adding, “The West has to understand the ideology of the people.”

Unfortunately for them, their way of viewing freedom is different from other countries. They ought to be able to understand that. Why is it that the West should be the only ones with tolerance for other people's cultures.

Also I think they are being a bit disingenious about tolerance to other religions.

These very same people when situations arise go on murderous rampages of minority Religions. We always spoke nice about Jesus but those Christians gotta die.

It's still law. Until stricken by courts down or recinded by state gov, it's law.

Can the progandandista who kicked this off stop whining now?

If there wasn't so much unemployment for the ****load of youth just looking for a reason to lash out in the Mid East, there wouldn't be a reason for youth to lash out at their cops with the excuse of anti-yankee themes.

Do they possibly figure if they lash out against America, get a few of themselves shot by their own cops to makes their cops look tyranical so that America will save them from themselves?

Pakistani Protester Dies From Smoke Of Burning American Flags

Pakistani Protester Dies From Smoke Of Burning American Flags - Forbes

here's a news story, containing a news story explaining it never happened. That's a new one.

What I found the most amusing about this false report, is the smug enjoyment people got at the notion that someone died "of disagreeing with them" So many references to karma (what does karma do with people who take pleasure in watching others get beat down by it anyway?), and such enjoyment and amusement. it makes it hard to look at one viewpoint over the other and figure out who's in the stone ages.

Does that mean no more chanting DEATH TO AMERICA?

In Canada if you are a WASP you must be tolerant of everyone but they can call you whatever demeaning names they can think of.

Pakistani Protester Dies From Smoke Of Burning American Flags

Pakistani Protester Dies From Smoke Of Burning American Flags - Forbes

I wouldn't say "Toxic Chinese Crap" I'd say just plain Toxic Ink Fumes ignited and inhaled, which is used in any flags, banners, posters and other signage.

Ever work with a Solvent Printer? If the room isn't ventilated very well, it gets really smelly, you get really dizzy and if you're in there too long and exposed to it for too long, you can experience some health problems over time.

Now take something that has been printed using Solvent Ink, set it on fire and inhale the fumes..... prepare to die you igit.

Though it'd a good deterrent to prevent people from burning your flags.... just print them using toxic inks and if they set it on fire, they die.

That'll learn ya.

... even if the report is true or false.... burning those inks and inhaling them isn't healthy.

Though it does make you wonder where all these angry people get these American flags.

They hate the US so much, yet they always have piles of US flags to burn.... do they have a store somewhere where they just stock American flags specifically for burning??

And what would be really ironic is if those are official flags.... in that the money they use to buy these flags they burn are sent right back to the US.

Profit US, lol.
