Colpy's wrote this word for word:
1000 dead civilians after 21 days of warfare in the most densely packed population centre on earth shows amazing restraint and care taken by Israelis.

What I wrote:
If I recall you are on the record as saying that only killing 1000 innocent civilians every 3 weeks shows amazing restraint and care.

Suffice to say that after three weeks of death and destruction, Colpy thought that only killing a thousand innocent civilians showed amazing restraint and care.

Therefore it would be reasonable to assume that Colpy would describe the Syrian government as having acted with an even greater level of restraint and care for only killing 17,000 innocent civilians after 70 weeks.

BTW, the 17,000 number is likely far greater than the actual number of dead innocent civilians in the Syrian uprising. More likely the anti-Syrian activists are counting everyone (militants, soldiers, innocent civilians...) who has died so far in the Syrian uprising and inflated the numbers to some degree. Likely the actual number of innocent civilians killed during this uprising far less than 17,000.

For the record I do not support violence, oppression or injustice. I only support non-violent resistance to oppression and injustice.

Goober, CDNBear and Colpy support the current oppressive and unjust regime in Israel. The same one that the MP in the Opening Post describe as acting like Nazis. The same one which uses violence to crush armed militants and a significant number of innocent civilians. So we know what you guys support.

Colpy described the rate of innocent civilians deaths per week by an oppressive unjust regime which demonstrates an amazing level of restraint and care. Since the oppressive and unjust Syrian regime has demonstrated a significantly lower weekly innocent civilian kill rate than the oppressive and unjust Israeli regime, then I would expect him to be consistent and also describe the Syrian regime as having acted with an amazing level of restraint and care.

First of all, 1000 dead civilians in Gaza, plus 400 dead militants WAS great restraint by the Israelis.....if you do the research, you'll find the usual ratio of civilians to combatant deaths in modern war is 10:1. Moreover, turns out it was more like 650 dead militants and 650 dead civilians, a 1:1 ratio.....in the most densely packed population on earth. That requires incredible care and caution by the Israelis, as the militants were hiding among the civilian population. Accusations of "war crimes" in the light of that are irresponsible at best.......the Israelis must ask themselves "Why bother being Mr Nice Guy if we are to be labeled War Criminals no matter WHAT we do???"

Secondly, I don't think I said 17,000 civilians had died in Syria, I said 17,000 ARABS had died in Syria. Yes, many of them would be combatants from both sides....but many many more are civilians. The Sunni rebels use suicide bombers and terror, and Assad's scum military fires on civilian areas with artillery and tanks and habitually attacks funerals as a terror tactic. Indeed, according to an radio interview I heard this week, gov't troops attacked a funeral procession with helicopters, killing over 100 and wounding God knows how many.

Now THAT is a war crime.

What are the reported deaths by the Syrian Govt. in the past 3 weeks?

Probably less than 1000, most of whom were likely armed and attacking the Syrian government... not innocent civilians, but that's up to you to find out. let me know when you prove me wrong.

You made a claim- back it up - You are renowned for avoiding and twisting facts.

http://www.hrw.org/news/2012/05/02/syria-war-crimes-idlib-during-peace-negotiations
Human Rights Watch documented large-scale military operations that government forces conducted between March 22 and April 6, 2012, in opposition strongholds in Idlib governorate, causing the death of at least 95 civilians. In each attack, government security forces used numerous tanks and helicopters, and then moved into the towns and stayed from one to three days before proceeding to the next town. Graffiti left by the soldiers in all of the affected towns indicate that the military operation was led by the 76th Armored Brigade.

In nine separate incidents documented by Human Rights Watch, government forces executed 35 civilians in their custody. The majority of executions took place during the attack on Taftanaz, a town of about 15,000 inhabitants northeast of Idlib city on April 3 and 4.

35 x 9 =315 - in 2 days-

I came up with the 17,000 number, not you. I referenced a recent number given by the Syrian opposition.

I don't know what the "ratio" of civilians to militants is in the Syrian conflict... but since the Syrian military isn't bombing/shelling shelters, schools, universities, hospitals like the Israelis did, I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that the ratio of civilians to militants is far less than 10:1, far less than the Israeli kill ratio during the Gaza massacre (4-2:1), but probably not as low as 3:10 (the ratio Hamas achieved during the Gaza massacre.

I have no other response to "since the Syrian military isn't bombing/shelling shelters, schools, universities, hospitals like the Israelis did"

Its a fact that during Gaza massacre the Israeli military bombed and shelled shelters, schools, universities and hospitals. I can back that statement up with references to reputable sources.

There have been repeated allegations in Gaza that civilians have suffered disfiguring burn injuries after being hit by white phosphorus

The munitions dispersed hundreds of pieces of felt loaded with phosphorus and the report said these pieces landed into the UNRWA compound, causing injury to an UNRWA employee and to two Palestinian civilians who took cover at the location, the daily wrote.

Do you see the first word in my sentence? "Probably"...

Would you like me to define that word for you?
No - Define character - define morals- define facts as these are a few things you have problems with- And that is not probable - that is a fact.

I'll repeat what I already wrote. I don't see a significant difference between one oppressive unjust regime using violence to crack down on a militant uprising and another.

What's going on in Syria right now isn't that different than what happened during the Gaza massacre. Unlike many people here on this forum, I have no problems condemning the violence in both cases.

Some of you may perceive these atrocities as different, but I don't. I attribute your inability to see these atrocities as similar to the way they are portrayed in our MSM and the comments made by our political leaders.

Fundamentally attacking and killing civilians is wrong. When mass slaughter events occur it indicates to me that some @sshole or a group of @ssholes is using their might to impose their version of injustice and oppression.

Yes you do. Which is why you posted a false claim that Syria isn't bombing civilians like you claim Israel does.

What's going on in Syria right now isn't that different than what happened during the Gaza massacre.
Yes it is. Israel doesn't target civilians, Syria is targeting civilians.

That's a subjective opinion. Solely based on your flawed perceptions. Given the egregious error you made with Colpy's post. Your opinion holds no water.

Fundamentally attacking and killing civilians is wrong.
I agree. Israel doesn't do that, Syria does.

When mass slaughter events occur it indicates to me that some @sshole or a group of @ssholes is using their might to impose their version of injustice and oppression.
Again we come back to you flawed perception skills.

And before you cry about insults or attacks or any other nonsense. You put "I" in your posts. If you don't want to be the topic, stop doing that.

Defending terrorists again I see.

I guess you didn't notice the "people" in the pictures. Most of them are innocent civilians.

Unlike you, I don't defend anyone who resorts to violence. From my perspective any act of violence which deliberately results in civilian deaths is an act of terrorism... You sound just like the Syrian government:

Anyone who reads what I write and compare it with what you write about me... knows the above is a load of BS.

For the record I do not support violence. I do not support terrorist governments, terrorist militants, people who try to violently overthrow governments (even illegitimate, oppressive and unjust governments). I support non-violent resistance only in support of greater freedom and justice. I support the right of civilians to live in peace without being attacked by violent belligerents.

Yes you do.

When you ignore the fact that Hamas uses civilian infrastructure to launch attacks, while you condemn Israel. You defend terrorists.

From my perspective any act of violence which deliberately results in civilian deaths is an act of terrorism...
Cool, so you defend terrorism, even by your own standards, lol.

You sound just like the Syrian government:
Your perception skills have been proven to be seriously flawed. So what you think, really has no merit, lol.

One just has to look in the flotilla thread to see how I completely made your argument look silly, while I proved 2 things.

1, Your opinion regarding the illegality of in that event, is BS.

2, Your perception skills are almost nonexistent.

A complete pack of lies, nonsense and misrepresentations:
I appreciate you putting a disclaimer on your posts.

Anyone who reads what I write and compare it with what you write about me... knows the above is a load of BS.
And yet they side with me.

This goes back to your poor perception skills.

For the record I do not support violence.
Yes you do.

I do not support terrorist governments, terrorist militants, people who try to violently overthrow governments (even illegitimate, oppressive and unjust governments).
Yes you do. Electronic warfare, is warfare, lol.

I support non-violent resistance only in support of greater freedom and justice. I support the right of civilians to live in peace without being attacked by violent belligerents.
And you defend terrorists that hide in civilian infrastructure. Which makes you part of the problem.
