I just know they have been doing it for decades here and our water is fine,it was even voted best drinking water in Canada at one time which is surprising considering the amount of abandoned strip mines around here and 1500 kilometers of abandoned underground tunnels that are all full of water.

They are pretty well ignored by those in the industry.
Frac fluids are no secret,theres no security watching over service rigs and ask any roughneck and im sure they will tell you whats in their fluid.

All it takes is thousands of people moving to the countryside, drilling wells and severely dropping a watertable to the point coal gases can seep in and trash the entire aquifer for everyone like in PA.

From most sources, the only drilling in most areas was for fracking, not water wells.
it's actually more like .05% the rest is water and sand.
Theres no big secret,ask anyone on the service rig and im sure they will show you the containers complete with ingredients and whmis labels.
You can even google it,it's totally public whats in the mix,lots of chemicals for sure but .05% of volume.

WHMIS labels don't have to have proprietary ingredients listed, if the manufacturer has an HMIRC exemption number.

No,the ingredients are listed on the net in lots of places,on a lease site I would just have to ask the rig manager what recipe they are useing.I'm more worried about the stuff coming out of the ground like h2s then the stuff were pumping back in as it wont kill you.
And he'll tell you all of it, except for that all important .05%. Which isn't listed, and exempt from the WHIMS label by the HMIRC.
Not according to many Doctors looking to get the contents of that .05%.

Havent been on a dozer in a long time but im still the very last guy on a lease or ROW untill the inspector signs off on it so ya I do my due diligence.I'm the guy that makes it look like no one was there before,thats my responsibility and i can use any piece of equipment or any amount of operators I want to do the job and all I have to do is ask.
I mostly sit in my truck and watch.

I read an article years ago about fracking in Montana destroying water wells. As I remember they were shallow wells, as in water well depth looking for shale gas. The issue only came up here because someone wanted to drill for gas in the coal or shale deposits near Courtney which are quite deep and they claimed that because of the deep wells it would not be an issue. About all I remember of it.
