None of the inspectors mentoring me had degrees either, you dont need one for a field inspector, just experience and Resdin is one of the biggest and best in Alberta,35 years experience trumps a degree any day in the patch but you dont work in the patch so I forgive you for being ignorant.
Only our chief inspector was an engineer, you should stick to hard rock drilling petros, seems thats all you have done all your life.
Stick to stuff you know, like when I schooled you on blasting, you didnt even know the differance between a det cap and a booster. You also dont need a degree to be a blaster.
You claimed to be a jr inspector, now you claim to be a labourer for an inspector. which might have some truth to it.

You schooled me on blasting? You didn't even know what the **** saltpetre is I hadn't laugh so hard in ages. You're not a bad guy but Jesus Christ lay off the bull**** a little.

Ratchet it down a bit guys! All of this westerner versus easterner crap should be reserved for the playground. We all know (or should know) it's been very convenient for a variety of lolks seeking election for some office to claim the boogyman is over there somewhere. Hell, it's been going on for centuries, just look at Quebec brought up on a steady diet issuing forth from the Catholic church for eons " it's all les Anglais fault."

I thought SLM made a very good point the other day when she said that the quality of people has very little to do with geography, I think each area has its own idiosyncracies but I think on average they pretty well balance out.

Is something that happened 50 years ago, REALLY worth trying to get a Donnybrook happening?

I have no idea what "get a Donnybrook happening" means. But, I'm someone who considers fact and history important to get right. Demonstrably false claims shouldn't be allowed to stand.

What good is human knowledge and shared learning if we don't become better?

You claimed to be a jr inspector, now you claim to be a labourer for an inspector. which might have some truth to it.

You schooled me on blasting? You didn't even know what the **** saltpetre is I hadn't laugh so hard in ages. You're not a bad guy but Jesus Christ lay off the bull**** a little.

A jr inspector, not a labourer, thats why I started my own company,I had to.$900.00 plus a day would be good money for a labourer.

Heres the letter I got from the guy that hired me.

NP, I don’t mind giving guys a chance. Inspection is 50% experience and 50% personality. Dealing with and getting along with people is where most guys have a hard time in this industry but if you can handle a situation with a bit of tact you’ll do fine. As for the experience, you’ve been on equipment for a number of years now so I don’t think that will be a problem. You’ll have a few things to learn but who doesn’t. Just a bit of a warning though, we’ll probably start you off on something pretty light duty, probably backfill which is a bit boring at the best of times. You’ll be teamed up with other inspectors on a larger job so you’ll have some help and a few people to go to for advise if need be.

Rates run any where from around $900.00 per day to $1100.00 per day for a junior inspector. The project I’m looking to put you on is 200 km’s of 12” out by Grand Prairie or possibly one of the Enbridge lines. Both are in the fall. Weather can play a big factor but I’ll keep in touch to keep you up to date.

As for the truck I think what you have is ok for the time being. You probably won’t need the slip tank but it doesn’t hurt anything by leaving it on.

Life's good in Alberta for us that have been slaveing in it the last 30 years and took the nep and still survived.
Petro's doesnt understand this and I also think he's a nice guy but should just stick to his job drilling.

So why are you a dozer jockey? Stimulus projects?
No,i'm private contractor again and working under my supervisors certificate as a consultant.
I'm also the safety coordinator.
No such thing as Stimulus money on the powerline, unlimited budget.

Which of these Socialist Stiumlus welfare programs could have AB completed on it's own?

Its a good list Petros!!! Don't you wish SK had this kind of money to spend in it's province???

BTW Petros, how about you now develop a list of all the money AB contributed to Ont??
Like start with AB share of the $2.2 billion of Equalization payments that was just sent to Ont recently. Include all the loans, gifts, auto bailout funds etc etc. You might need at least two Posts to get a complete list.

So, c'mon Petros, I know you can do it..!!!

I have a great idea, genius.... Why don't you compile a list of all the places that have received money directly from your pocket (NOT Alberta's because they're not the ones whining and trolling) You might just find you're just as full of shyte as most folks believe you are.

I highly doubt DURRY is capable of typing out a grocery list, let alone what you requested. Durry has had his nose in the fumes far too long. Not to mention he's a spineless coward who puts people on ignore if you happen to question the idiocy he posts.

He must think I'm old because I'm wise. I'm probably younger than he is.

Ain't he a piece of work? :lol::lol::lol:

I was getting close to the same conclusion but didn't want to bad mouth the guy!:lol:

I know it's a bit of a side track, but, this is a prime example of what absolute tripe the 'action plan' is. This highway was being paved long before the action plan, and would have continued being paved regardless of the action plan. I'm sure there are many others in that list that are similar, but this one in particular crawled up my backside on the long weekend as I drove through there.

Petros has no life, he just sits in his old folks home and posts on this forum.

Well to be fair Drillers are a strange bunch so you have to cut them some slack sometimes.I spent 18 months on an SDS csr 1000 exploration drill in 1982 with Kerry Becker and his uncle invented the lazy susan pipe rack and the becker down the hole hammer and owned SDS drilling, which has now merged many times with many companies and is with Hazco now. It's a tough life doing that.
No cab on an exploration drill.

Anyways, now I just sit in my truck, cruise the jobsites we have going and keep things happening,I have 2 cell phones,a laptop,2 way radio in the truck and if I get the chance to hop in the dozer,or hoe I jump on it,I love running the iron.
So this morning I was standby on the mountain untill noon and then went to see how the basement job my buddy has the gig for,I have the best job in the world, got my best friend with me working and he has the class 1 so we can pretty well move any of our toys and run them too. This is what I saw when I got there, the JD 200 is ours. The little guy just bombed right in there and allmost flipped, then started digging,I was laughing so hard I had a hard time running away from the reach of the boom, enjoy the pics.
This guy is in no trauma,he is digging away, lol! I'm still chuckling!
He's just working those joysticks!
Look's like the JD 200 gave birth to a mini hoe! This is today,I got good pics from yesterday too on the powerline.

Yesterday on structure 26 on the side of the mountain.
I told him to wait but oh no,just had to try it for himself.Took a hitachi 200 excavator,a d6 caterpillar dozer and a 135 hitach to get him back on the road and up to the pad it took me a month to build.
