No it's not.
I gather you're too damn lazy to do your own research and actually learn what is and what is not on subjects that you comment on.
You know gerry it is ignorant people like you that give religion a bad name.

Actually, it's ignorant shyte heads like you that bring this out in me. Your comments when it comes to any religion don't deserve any more than what I give.
The bigger question is should it be removed to reflect the current thinking in the world. Does the fact that there is no separation of church and State in Canada bother anybody?

It could be just me, but it feels that this thread is being turned into another Christian bashing thread
They can - Using Quebec is a poor example - you know that as well as I
Its not a poor example. They use it to get around the constitution and anyone else can. Thats what the notwithstanding clause is for-to get around the constitution.
I think that if people of any faith want to have prayer in school, they should start their own private school system. It seems to me the public school system is and should be secular because it is impossible to cater to the diversity of religious beliefs present in Canada. Giving special treatment to one group while not to others is just plain wrong and possibly unconstitutional.
So, your answer is to cater to the atheists.
suck it up buttercup.
You are looking at it in the wrong way. Canada way back then protected minorities rights.
It could be just me, but it feels that this thread is being turned into another Christian bashing thread;-)
And it ain't even close to Christmas:roll:
Intolerance is not what we need in Canada.
So proposing equal treatment for all is Christian-bashing now?
I'll admit I haven't read the entire thread, but I hope this isn't referring to my comment about the BNA Act.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm all for special treatment for special groups.
Well, if we look at it that way, then what's all the fuss about reasonable accommodation?

And precisely what has secularism have to do with atheism? Government is separate from religion but still has religious people involved. Governments run public schools not religious schools. Religion is the responsibility of parents, not society. How any different relgions are there practiced in Canada? You can't accommodate all of them in the system so we have a secular system. That has nothing to do with atheism. I have no problem with exposing all kids to all the various religious ideologies. It might promote understanding between religions and end the bickering but I doubt all religious parents would want their kids exposed to other ideologies on anything other than an informal basis. How many Christians, Muslims or Sikhs would allow their kids to experience a Sweat Lodge ceremony, attend Kingdom Hall or introduction to the Hare Krishnas? So, your answer is to cater to the atheists.
