Uncomfortable booths violate the civil rights of fat people.

I'll be interested to see what the "improvements" are to McD's that I've been hearing about. Not that I'm keen to go there but if I'm going to eat a cardboard burger, might as well be comfortable while doing so.

The local ones which were redone here have regular seats, cushoned and not fixed in place. Few booths. A fireplace, and serve your own soft drinks. Sort of a low budget Starbucks.

And most now also have free WiFi.

Yeah I read something about the big overhaul, apparently it will be done right across the country. The idea is to encourage people to hang out for longer, at least that's what the P.R. guy was quoted as saying.

Experimenting with meals is fun! For me anyway. I often try a new dish in a restaurant, then go home an "improve" upon it, lol.
Ditto...That's how I came up with my Drunken Margarita Chicken.

TAnd most now also have free WiFi.
Even the ones in the sticks.

That looks seriously good. The one thing I hate about condo living is no outdoor grill :(

Perhaps I can modify and drink margaritas whilst cooking chicken ? ;)

It is good!!! Now, lol. The first couple tries weren't so good, to salty, to bitter, no taste, lol. But then it all came together.

We process all our own meats and fish. I brine and smoke meats, cure fish. I've been doing it since I was a kid, at my Grandfathers side.

The difference now is, I've spiced up what was once a tradition smoke only preservation.

That's one reason why Bear's are banned from condo's/apt buildings.

After 8 of them, would you even care? LOL...

That's something I would be keen to try at least once. Even if only to say I'd tried it. Like I said, I find the whole process of food preparation really interesting.

That is a pity. Lack of outdoor space and bear bans aside, it's the best lifestyle choice for me. Heaven help me if I ever had to deal with repairs and maintenance. But I did buy a drill when I moved in, never used it but it's fully charged and ready to go, lol.

Good grief, after 8 I'd be passed out on the floor while the chicken burns, lol.

You do realize I grossly exaggerate my party girl ways right? ;)

Have you had wild game at all?

That is a pity.
Not really. It's a kin to putting a wild animal in cage really, lol.

Ya, it's definitely a strain and a pain.

I'm not really a Bear either. I just play one on the Internet...

I can remember having moose when I was young and at my grandparents up north, around Sudbury way. My uncle, great-uncle I guess as he was my grandfathers brother, used to hunt. I remember I really enjoyed it. Venison I'm sure I must have, but I really can't recall.

A Girl Scout!!!
Not exactly, lol. I just have a stubborn streak and, damnit if somethings needs to be done, I will figure it out and do it.

I'm in shock! ;)

There are some people whom for whatever reason cannot control their weight. Not saying this particular person is one of them -- I would assume he is not given his obvious repeated visits to White Castle -- but some people do not have control of it.

Yes, there are people like that. There is a tiny, tiny tiny minority who have brain issues. There's a guy like that in town here - his brain doesn't tell him he's satisfied, so he's always hungry, but it's due to a brain injury.

The rest, it's called willpower. And that's 99.9%

I hear ya there! lol.

That's a problem when I really want to have something I haven't had in a long time, like last weekend I made spaghetti & meatballs, smallest batch I could manage and it still took me 5 meals to finish it off. On the up side, I won't need to make it again for while because I've had my fill of it, lol.

That's why we have a deep freeze. Make big batches, and freeze some of it.

Small booths discriminate against larger customers. That must be what he's claiming. Can't for the life of me come up with anything else.

More like he found a lawyer that works on contingency and they figured they could make an easy few bucks by making a stupid claim and getting paid off.

There is one critique that I hear from Canadians and that is how overweight us Yanks are... and they are SO correct! Gosh it boggles my brain that some of us Americans eat ourselves into oblivion! I see it all the time. I think it is insane. I stay in good shape and my Doc gets on my azz when I go a few pounds over. What the heck does he tell people that are morbid?

Too many people confuse or intentionally blend their 'rights' with common sense, opportunity, privilege

Perpetual crybabies and litigious attention-seekers aside, people gotta stop assuming that they're gonna get (handed to them) whatever they expect. They also need to understand that there is a clear difference between a request and a demand.

"I blame the Fast food restaurants for the out break of obesity...not people...there is plenty they could do..use 100% whole wheat bread...BAKED fries only....low calorie condiments, Ketchup, mayo, etc....Sugar free soda ONLY... I guarantee people would weigh less and be happier.... "

I love comments like that. It's the restaurant's fault that people are fat. It's not the fact that they get numerous items and then supersize it. Oh, but they got a Diet Coke! Like that makes a freaking difference. Maybe if they ordered less food then maybe they would be more healthy. And there are studies that show aspartame is a lot worse for people than sugared pop, so why would the restaurant go to diet pop only? Also, not everyone can even drink beverages with aspartame in it, so making that the only beverage available makes no sense at all.

Personally, I am getting sick and tired of everyone bitching and moaning about their problems, but don't do anything about it. I was getting quite chunky, and I now eat healthier and work out at the gym. I've lost 20lbs, and I feel a lot better. Do I blame the fast food industry for my weight? Heck no. I am not a mindless drone that must eat there, so there is no reason other obese people can't do the same. Stop blaming others and put the onus on yourself!

I hope his lawsuit goes down the tubes.

I blame that evil little monkey on the Subway commercials....

Officially, I've dumped 70 pounds since New Years - five more since my last weigh-in mid-July - but I know it was more than that 'cuz I outgrew the pants I wore at my recorded heavy weight. I don't do fast food and cut out the white bread, potatoes and pasta. Damn, how I loved lasagna and spaghetti - and survived on KD. I walk lots. Who needs a gym? I have a dog! Physical last week was the best one I've had in twenty years. Heart meds have a chance now. Today, my biggest problem is my vanishing belly button roll. I guess suspenders aren't all that bad....

It is so funny you say that Wolf. I did the P90X exercise program and Subway (certain sandwiches/subs) were part of the diet. It worked. I ate A LOT of Subway stuff and I lost a lot of weight.

I took the weight control (i.e loss!) to an extreme and a big part of it was Subway! McDonalds and Burger King are not Subway.

It is amazing the simple things you can cut from our diet and have drastic results. Soda, white bread, carbs at breakfast.

The belly button roll ... lmao... I had a six pack and STILL could pinch my sides a bit! Genetics my friend.

Stay with it and we'll outlive them all.

I love when people give themselves a chance no matter what age.

I agreed with all you said. Our portions at restaurants in America are huge. When I do go out to eat and get a regular meal my leftovers are worth two meals. I am talking the portion you eat at the restaurant and two leftover meals after. But many Yanks whoof it down in one sitting. It's insane!

I think the biggest issue causing most weight problems is an un-balanced diet and a lack of exercise. It is just fine to go have a double whopper with cheese and bacon every so often or get the 12 ounce prime rib with all the fixings as long as you have grilled chicken breast or a salad for dinner some days too and stay active. It is the balance and variety that helps maintain a stable weight. I haven't changed more than 5 pounds up or down since I was 19 and I will occasionally have honeycomb cereal for breakfast or a baconator & fries with a coke for lunch. Of course other times I will have plain yogurt with granola and fresh fruit. Its all about using some common sense and keeping that balance and variety.

Well done to all the "losers" ;-) who have posted their stories and methods.
