Nycole Turmel’s flirtation with sovereignty was not a secret.

The Late Great Tommy Douglas must be rolling in his grave.......

bloody hell, I bet if alive today he'd join the Conservative Party!

lol

Naw.....probably just the Liberals......if they promise to stop hating Christians.....

Real ones, I mean, not "cultural christians".

Tommy was a real one, a Baptist minister, as so many love to forget......

Nope you can't.... But you can sure spin it....

Spinning? What am I spinning? I neither wrote it or translated it. If anyone is spinning it is Nycole Turmel and apparently a few rather shrill NDP supporters.

She didn't leaver the Bloc because of it's policies, she left for personal reasons. Her words.

The question has to be asked: Is this the new direction of the NDP? If not they. need to dump Turmel.

If you go back to my last post ,I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, but apparently she didn't want her separtist friends too think she was leaving because of policy.

Before everyone gets their **** in a knot, it might be a good idea to wait until a leader is elected to replace Jack Lenin instead of an interim appointed leader.

Did I say you as in YOU? As a writer, I'd be almost certain you (as in YOU) would realize there is a generic meaning for the word, too - but if you choose ownership of the word, or if it came close enough to the mark to splash mud on you, enjoy. Spin as you (as in YOU as you own it now) wish.... :p

Man if you can tie your ****** in a knot you are eating way to much fibre.

I could careless whether or not the NDP keeps Turmel, but her appointment only empowers the Liberals.

No offense taken Lone Wolf, when you quote me I usually take that as you are addressing me.

Liberals are toast just like le Bloc. How do you empower dead entities?

Don't count either out just yet.

We'll see what transpires over the next four years. All that matters to me is that major projects iniatited by the Libs were advanced by the Cons.

It is why I voted Con, I didn't want to see these projects taking hits and cuts.

Just shows to go ya, there ain't no difference between Libs and Cons - puppets to the same masters. I think it is funny that an NDPer has them tying their shorts in knots. What a kerfuffle about nothing.

I can recognize the two sides of the same coin when I see it. As long as that coin isn't spent on moon pies and penny whistles I can live with it.

Yea but you can choose your friends. Relatives? somewhat more difficult.

Good news about the appointment of Nycole Turmel as interim leader of the NDP
is that it'll give Rick Mercer & the folks at This Hour Has 22 Minutes some good
material.

And apparently the NDP as well

A politician is a politician is a...well, you get the point.

Good news about the appointment of Nycole Turmel as interim leader of the NDP
is that it'll give Rick Mercer & the folks at This Hour Has 22 Minutes some good
material.

While I do honestly love the glass half full optimism, my fear is that this also means that when the House sits that this will be the main topic of debate instead of, you know, pertinent issues confronting the nation.

Because all politicians love their soundbites and a politician is a politician is a...well, it's been said before.

I'm glad there is another person on this thread who realizes that she is only temporarry until a leader is elected. Some have her as permanent and elected by the party.

No I would say most people realize that she is an interim leader, but it still begs the question as to why they (the NDP) would appoint someone with baggage like this to the lead the party until they have a convention?

Were Jacques Parizeau and Gilles Duceppe unavailable?

Perhaps the "baggage" is lighter for her than it is for the mountains from molehills crowd. Something from nothing means nothing gets done - exactly the same as our previous smokescreen governments have been.
