Norwegians live in an oasis created by easy oil profits. They are not more gifted or prescient than individuals in other western countries. And what they have today is a problem. Given that one Islamist radical group has already claimed responsibility for the terrorism it behooves Norwegians to hold their government accountable for a full hearing on what's behind this tragedy. Your approach merely gives excuse to maintain the status quo.
I am not offering any kind of "approach". It is silly to assume that a thorough investigation will not be held.....or that necessary changes won't be introduced.
If they need assistance and ask for it.......fine. Otherwise..... outsiders should be supportive but NOT to intefere or meddle. Most of all, lets avoid the finger pointing and accusations before the evidence is in. They will let the world know soon as they KNOW , who actually was behind these criminal acts. They will follow the evidence trail and investigate exhaustively. They don't take their laws lightly either.
That's shocking. First it was five, then maybe seven. Another source ventured the possibility of fifteen. But eighty? A lone gunman killed eighty people? That's devastating.
And now news releases insist the tragedy was entirely homegrown without any terror group connection. Looks like reports are coming in on the fly. Hopefully, we'll know the exact story within a few days.
TRAGIC doesn't describe it. All the more important to not jump to conclusions as to who was behind it . And just as important , not to take all the initial reports as final .......Let them do what they need to do amidst this crisis and tragedy..... and give them the space to do it without over bearing commentary about them or to them while they are in such shock.
