He's looking hungery here:

Freebase? Who will save the Kittens?

I had high hopes that if Tim Ogilvie-the Conservative candidate here in my riding- were elected, he would be on kitten patrol. He is the former Dean of the Atlantic Veterinary College.

A majority and no vet, god help us all, especially our feline friends!

Well, maybe you should just f*** off to another country and we'll do our damndest to struggle along without you!

Slow down Mr 39 percent you are not represented by the majority, if we all leave, and we won't, you will surely lament the
migration of the brains of Canada that certainly won't grow in such poison conservative soil as we have just plowed.

What are you talking about? Conservatives don't know how to plow.

I wonder what kind of dung eating parasite that kitty picked up off that gorilla.

Well, now that there is no minority, I'll be watching this unapologetic conservative approach to fiscal management. No opposition parties to hold up passage of bills now, so hopefully three years from now we don't have a leader spending my future kids and grandkids money with a credit card. Hope is the right word, I think Harper used it a few times in his speech last night.

Okay, so, I'm sure this has been thought of already - but let's just have two votes then.

One regional and one federal.

Problem solved.
You're missing something here: how do you represent regional interests at the federal level? We already elect our regional gov'ts (i.e. municipal and provincial) but we need to ensure issues are brought to the big table as well. The fastest way to break the country up would be to have Ottawa dictate how everything is without having regional players at the table when the decisions are made: thats part of the issue with Quebec, Alberta and Newfoundland already. Would you rather just have a system in which we elect a Leader and then our representatives later, like republics do? I really have no objection to that if it means more efficient governance but it would require a complete constitutional overhaul...

Probably wait until after the work day is over, wait for a chance to catch him in the bar after a dozen toddies and when no one else is watching whisper it in his ear and then they both have a good laugh!
Sounds about right.

Mr. 39.2% will rule with impunity now.

Ya, ya, blah blah blah...You bitch about corporations, while you leech off them.

We call that hypocrisy.

Can I help you pack?

To help society grow, one must know how it works, and ours runs on money. Instead of fighting the system, ya I joined it. Now I am in the position to grow our corporate greed into something better. I know how it works from their perspective. I know what they think counts (bottom line, ratios, power and control of industry, area, or people) and how to speak in corporate financial language. Ya I hold so many designations that it looks like the alphabet behind my name on my card. But I chose finance for a reason. As the medium of exchange it is used by every department of a company. And every company/corporation loves to know their numbers.

Past generations did the best they could and now we are at this point in time. Now it is my generations turn to grow what you have given us. I know this and keep in true in times of work and play.

I know there is a very easy way to grow from this. Hardest part is I will need everyones cooperation. Best part is, it will make all of us wealthier and have more control over corporations, without hindering their growth (actually encouraging it)

There are more important things then money. I have seen what it can buy and most time people get exactly what they deserve...

"Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money"

Give me a break. I handed in a blank ballot again this election one reason being how all my local candidates spent more time attacking each other than presenting their platform.

Though I lean right, I actually liked Layton as a leader as well as May for not being as confrontational than Ignatief and Layton. Heck, even Duceppe was more admirable on that front.

This OP shows the left still has not learnt its lesson any more than the right. If you want to win seats, stop just pulling the boogey man out of the hat and present something people will vote for.

Based on what the other parties were offering, a Harper majority is no better or worse.

I agree with you in so many ways...
I apologize for boogeyman but this was just to show my own fear of a Harper majority.
It is always questionable to give a man who wants more power, more power.

(I was personally offended by many things the conservative did with their minority, never mind the majority)

Northern Ontario,
Chretien got by with 38.46% in 1997, and we all know how he ruled. It's how our system works, or doesn't work, depending on the time and place I guess.

What we have now as in the past is an elected dictatorship, and we can only hope it's a benevolent dictator unlike Trudeau, Mulroney, or Chretien.
Which is why I always prefer a strong minority government that has to bargain for votes in the house.
