All gun control does is cause inconvenience for responsible firearm owners.

My firearm collection so far:

Left to Right:

.338 Winchester Magnum, laminated oak stock, top of the line Leupold scope
.270 Tikka, custom fibreglass stock, top of the line Leupold scope
M14 semi automatic rife. shoots 7.62 x 51(.308 Win)
20 gauge shotgun, holds 4 shots
12 gauge shotgun, single shot, fibreoptic sight
Gervarm semi automatic .22
.22 caliber single shot

I love the bed spread. Gorgeous.:)

On a more serious note, I don't hunt. I have one weapon. A Glock model 22 RTF .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Home protection. I take it to the range. It has a ten round magazine. :)

Good for you.

Like, what the hell is wrong with mailing out a license to the address they have listed by registered mail, thus having me sign for it........and making it clear the old license has to be destroyed????

Quicker.

Cheaper.

In full compliance with the law.

But it means I have to be treated as if I were trustworthy.....and all gun owners must be treated worse than criminals. Or made criminals by listening to the idiots from the RCMP.

"Sorry officer, I don't have my license, I mailed it to you guys."

Yeah, right.

I just know it is in the small print somewhere. Gun owners are to be treated like criminally insane children.

Thats because bureaucrats think everyone is as crooked as they are.

I'm going to get a handgun next, just not sure what yet. Does your Glock have a passive safety on the trigger?

The Glock is a wonderful weapon. There are three passive safeties. That is not very satisfactory imo. But if one is careful the lack of an active safety can be mitigated. The Glock .40 caliber semi-automatic is the standared weapon of most law enforcement agencies in California. It is extraordinarily reliable, and able to withstand tremendous abuse and still perform up to expectations.

The Para 1911 .45 caliber is manufactured in Canada. It is an extraordinary weapon. But it is pricey, and more weapon than I am a man.:)

Rule Three:

Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.

:)

The only real safety is between your ears

Due to the gun registration laws we now have I had to give up my guns.

I now have 'high velocity projectile luanch mechinisms' which are not mentioned in the legislation so are just fine.

I also have a 'horizontally oriented dart launcher' since they took away crossbows as well.
When did crossbows get taken away?

I hunt with a compound bow, a crossbow and a rifle. I only need a PAL for the rifle.

Like I was trained by my Grandfather and later the military, there are three safeties for every weapon. Your brain, your finger, and the one on the weapon.

If the primary safety is in full working order, the others are built in redundancy.

Oddly, I've yet to meet a "gun hating liberal" under the age of 30. I don't own a gun - but I guess because most in my age group were playing Nintendo Duck Hunt as kids? It's probably even worse now that even women have gotten into video games and kids are now battling "Space Aliens" through a computer screen.

Why don't they lead by example? Go ahead and disarm the RCMP and other police forces, and take those damn tazers away while they are at it, and I would say disarm the military too but they're actually doing okay at that, and then maybe we'll follow their lead.

This

Finnish police don't need tasers or guns. We got plenty of big boys in Canada - *we* don't need toys!
Unfortunately, the RCMP would have shot and tasered this guy to death.

As the old saying goes, "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it", but I have never met anyone who needed it and wished they had a smaller firearm. A .45 auto is a bit of a mitful, but with practice is a far more effective defense firearm than a 9mm. It was the first choice of the US military, (among others) since John Browning developed the thing in 1910, (1911 was the production year) until NATO forced the adoption of the anemic 9mm. (The double tap wasn't required, or even trained for with the .45, one hit usually sufficed).

As for 9mm's, I am not a fan of the Glock, but I was realy impressed by the CZ I used for trainees, sorry, but I can't remember the model, it was a loaner, but it was sweet.

Nice collection BTW, I wouldn't dare post mine, they look as well used as me, and the bed sheets even worse, oooh, did I say that out loud.

Now this I would get insulted about look who they compare Canada in the same sentence with.

"THIS PRODUCT CANNOT BE SHIPPED TO NEW JERSEY OR CANADA."

This product is a black powder colt replica handgun. :)

Wow.

I have always known that Gerald Caplan, the NDP advisor, was an obnoxious idiot.......at least since I used to watch him on the CTV political panel back in the dark ages.........but he has surpassed his own record of stupidity and misdirection in this column:

A law-and-order model for Stephen Harper: 310 million Americans packing heat - The Globe and Mail

Quite the interesting article, I wonder just how much is true. Can anyone buy explosives in the states without permits and licenses?

I would like to see a well armed public, why the heck should the criminals be the only ones packing, but there should be some criminal and psycholgical hurdles.
