Are you asking me?
Yes, I'd like to know your opinion. All these countries but one, voted to condemn Israel's ethnic cleansing. The one country that voted against the resolution, agreed Israel's actions were illegal. How is that possible?

...If that were really true Obama would have authorized the American UN ambassador to vote in favor of the resolution. Saying one thing and doing another thing is called duplicity.

How can someone veto the illegality of something and then turn around and agree with it?????
Good question.

This article provides an answer:
American Jews Rethink Israel | The Nation

In Canada, the Israeli Lobby is working to make criticizing Israel illegal in Canada:

amazing eao, you have certainly reinforced the idea that many here have that you are JUST a Jew hater. You have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are willing to not only twist things, but to actually lie through your teeth.

Well, according to the article you quoted, the United States said they vetoed it because it would derail peace talks. I'm not inclined to believe them. I think it's just Obama, as usual, failing to commit to anything.

If all these nations (the overwhelming majority) supported this resolution condemning Israel and Israel has done nothing wrong, then this resolution must be some part of global Israel hating conspiracy, involving the UK, France, Germany, Brazil... right?

Don't think so.

The US is the only nation on the UN security council which openly supports Israeli war crimes.
What war crimes.

Yet there is no cry of shame about human rights abuses in South America. Guess a leftist like Chavez can do no wrong huh. The U.S. tried.

CARACAS, Venezuela – Venezuela's top diplomat hit back at the United States on Friday over its suggestion that President Hugo Chavez's government should allow an international investigation into alleged human rights abuses.
Foreign Minister Nicky Boom Boom Maduro said the matter is a domestic affair and Washington has no business meddling.
"We absolutely reject that the U.S. get involved in this issue," he said. "Our country does not accept tutelage from anybody."
Maduro was responding to a statement Thursday from the U.S. State Department, which urged the South American nation to permit an investigation "as a means to promote dialogue and understanding."

For a long time, any western politician who doesn't support Israel as unshakably as Prime Minister Stephen Harper tend to have short careers. The evidence is overwhelming that our media and politicians closely follows the Israeli narrative. This vote by the US at the UNSC in front of the entire world makes the US and Israel transparent to everyone, except those who can't see oppression and injustice in plain sight.

This isn't about Judaism. Its about doing the right thing. Everyone who is aware and not part of the solution, is part of the problem.

The vote wasn't about Chavez. Stay on topic.

First of all, I am not in favor of Jewish settlements in the areas mentioned. At the same time I will
side with Israel before I would side with some of the Arab States for a single day. I don't think one
side is better than the other because they have been fighting all these years because we are watching
a family dispute. As both sides will tell you, the father of their society is Abraham, for those who hate
the Jews or the Arabs for that matter, must then hate the other, because they are in fact cousins.
I don't hate either side, I just trust one side more than the other.

This is not about ethnic cleansing, as the Muslim population is still living in the area. If you go to areas
in the Muslim World you will find that the Jews are not exactly welcome in the Arabs backyard.
There is a lot of difference between Settlements, and Ethnic Cleansing, and sometimes I am both
saddened and amused by the way a subject title is labelled. When it is totally inflammatory I question the
reason and objectivity of the over all message.

You can't call someone who attacks an occupying force a terrorist. They are combatants.

Well, there was a loony mindset that thought George Washington was a terrorist.

Interesting choice of words...

I'm not inclined to believe a veto would derail peace talks either. Peace might interfere with Israel's ethnic cleansing.

This is the first American UNSC veto since Obama became President. Obama has made a huge commitment to support Israel, regardless of international law and as a result has lost a lot of credibility throughout the region and around the world.

Veto - UN's Achilles heel....

Indeed.... it destroys the entire democratic process. It's not democratic and nobody's voice is really heard unless you agree with or vote in favor of those who can shut the whole thing down with one simple vote if they don't like the outcome, for whatever dumbass reason they have.

And this is why the UN is a failure.

An illegal military occupation is an illegal military occupation. Illegally invading a nation for land and resources is one thing but to do it for religious reasons claiming an entity in sky gave it too them goes outside the bounds of reality.

Do you support Israel's ongoing Jewish only colony building over razed Palestinian homes, cemeteries, parks, farmland...

If it helps keep the terrorists at bay then I don't have a problem with it.

But who are the terrorists? Who is occupying whose land? That ought to answer the question.

You got some fine upstanding pro human rights countries there.

How relevant is that? If Hitler himself had voted against ethnic cleansing or foreign occupation of lands, and outstanding democratic countries opposed it, while we could argue Hitler would be a hypocrite, we'd still have to say he was right, whereas the democratic countries would also be hypocritical for opposing human rights abroad, plus they'd still be wrong.

Israel is fine and dandy with ethnic cleansing as long as it's not them being cleansed.

Why else would they build a Red Army Memorial in Jerusalem?

Guys like Lev Davidovich Bronstein (Leon Trotsky) who founded and lead the Red Army in the Holodomor, slaughter, toture, rape and starvation of 66 Million are worth honouring?

The difference is the Russians were our Allie and they took on twice as many Germans as the west.
You put up statues for those who were your allies regardless of who they were. It leads to all kinds
of questions about that period in history. Armandhammer for example was a business man with all
kinds of access to the old Soviet Union, he had all kinds of mining interests and other ventures and
that is because he did business with Stalin.
There were other business deals that went down at that time as well.
Israel is surrounded by Arabs and now matter which way people try to explain it, the Israelis look
more like us than their Abab Cousins. Besides the Arabs don't have the real fine art of business
sense, and the Jews do.
This is not about ethnic cleansing it is about a family dispute that has gone on for thousands of years
and it will never end.

Although Mr. Bronstein was no angel, and was willing to use terror to achieve his goals.....(a true believer, there is nothing more dangerous)........he is not guilty of the mass slaughters, the manufactured famines, the purges that cost millions of lives in Soviet Russia.....although 66 million is WAY over the top

The real number is a fraction of that....about a third, by most estimates.

No matter, millions are millions are millions....it is WAY too many. And this is tens of millions......

But lay the blame where it belongs.....at the feet of Joseph Stalin.

And Joseph Stalin was NOT Jewish.....which is what you are getting at, I know.

The USA is clearly not a free country, clearly not democratic and clearly a slave territory of the theocratic racist state of Israel. The government in Canada is just as whipped as Uncle Sam.Take note I used Government in Canada and not Government of Canada, these useless suits are not Canadian, they are agents of Israel. Nothing could be plainer we are chained by our national debt, are we not?

Ohhhhhhh It all Stalins fault is it? It's funny how you pick the only Non-Jew out of 6 butchers to blame. Every person who suffered right up until 1991 were victims. Start tallying bub!

But tell me what kind of ****tards build monuments to the Red Army in Jerusalem? Jewish ****tards of course.
