Ahh yes, I DID read it, but I was leery of the speculative impression I got from it, seeing it elsewhere sort of cemented it in my head a bit better, I certainly wasn't trying to pretend that I found it first, I was more just hoping that there might not be anything to it and seeing it again made it "real" enough to convince me

Last choice unfortunately if/when the sea floor starts 'leaking'. You could be looking at 10 years of more.

The ultimate solution is to build a relief well. But that won't be completed until August. I think the relief well has a high probability of working.

I find it both ironic and thrilling watching Americans along that stretch complain and boo-hoo about how OIL has caused them so much discomfort and `pain` in thier once cushy life-styles. :lol:

Little bit of work (20 years) and their new totally secure fishing pond is complete.

I also said we should feed the dead to the bears as they do not make good fish food and the ground is too hard to dig into because of all the diamonds in the rock. Considering what happened in their old home, having the oil deposits there made into diamonds saves the problem of anybody doing a repeat. The natural rock is only slightly softer so no gold strike (come in make big mess, leave for others to clean-up), build a long term economy.

I also told them we would add extra oxygen to the water in winter and feed the fish stocks so harvests are at the max every year.

Really what are the odd that there could be millions looking for long term accommodation. Two coats each , one woman for each man. Expect a lot of babies after that first long, dark winter. lol

In my experience of working for the government, the president does not usually overrule regulatory agencies. While he has the authority to do so, it is only with Congressional oversight and approval. On that basis, I see no grounds for the forum's right wing claim that Obama caused it.

I have not been on this thread and I'm not going to read all 21 pages to see if I am duplicating a post. If you have not seen or tried this, for any of you familiar with my location (Nanaimo, BC - Vancouver Island) try entering it as a place. I suggest this simply because Nanaimo is a port and it is possible a spill like that could happen here. It's not likely but - it's possible. We do live on the ocean.

It has nothing to do with which one is worse. It has everything to do with showing how vast the spill is. I pointed out Nanaimo - and I know that you are one of the people on here familiar with the area - just because Nanaimo is a port so it gives us a better idea how big this "spill" is. I found it quite amazing to see just how huge it is when I put Nanaimo in because as you can see, it would cover much of the Island and the mainland. There is 40 miles of water between here and the mainland.

The slick on the bottom is bigger still and might get a lot bigger before the pressure equalizes. It may leak for a thousand years. Free oil is not such a good idea afteral I guess.

Now would be a good time to market back yard refineries. You can process as much as you can shovel off the beach. It will be good for the economy. I think a positive outlook is important , especially since there dosen't seem to be anything else to do about it. How about bird washing machines, their time is here. Opportunity calls' let's get behind the new green hydrocarbon economy.

I have always fancied a tar pit in the front lawn to offset the fish pond. There would be the emissions reduction as well, tar pits don't have to be mowed.

Obama couldn't possibly have had anything to do with it, it was purely republican propaganda from the very beginning.

Obama has been in power for less than year and a half. Even if he had given BP the permission to drill on his very first day in office (a practical impossibility), BP wouldn't have been able to have an operational well today, I think it takes a lot longer than that to drill an offshore well.

Yes and they will give you money to operate the shovel and there is cash incentive and taxc breaks all for the environment connections. This has the potential to be the geatest environmental greening event ever undertakin, and we owe it all to the BP cutting edge. Why won't they hire me to work their PR?
