Why do people place Jesus before God when he is at everyone's mercy?

You don't have to believe in God, unless God himself calls upon you. Jesus is like that train that never showed up, God has been standing there with you the whole time wondering the same thing why that damn train didn't show up either.

Belief in god is a character flaw. It is for those that do not believe in themselves. Religion is organized brainwashing.
Even among all the so called christian sects they argue over who has the direct line to god and do not even consider that any one of the other thousands of religions in the world might actually have the direct line.
They are also perfectly willing to kill each other along with none believers over who has the real god.

Yeah, well just remember some of us get harrassed by God non-stop 24 hours a day even in our sleep as a haunting shadow that never goes away. I wouldn't say religion is brainwashing it's God himself that get's what he wanted and wants what he get's even if God has to brainwash you..

Christians have no direct line to anything of God, Jesus is their leader. They think he's the Messiah comming to save them from God knows what...

To many Christians believe Jesus is God for one simple reason they prefer to believe in a false prophet.

Jesus is the son of God and replacing God with Jesus is the greatest sin which will not be wiped out just because they believe in Jesus.

The road to forgiveness starts with the belief in the right God.

I agree, quite honestly I say we keep Jesus as an excellent example of what not to do... Otherwise we will just see it happen again.

It sounds to me abitz like you're on a serious search, and that's a wonderful thing.

No one has to believe in God. No one has to believe Christ was the resurrected saviour of the world. Heck, the Bible tells us that even within his own disciples, faith was not always rock solid. People are individuals and seek for themselves.

I think to call yourself a Christian in some Christian denominations, that admiration of Jesus, and willingness to seek faith in Christ is good enough. In some of the more stringent, such as Catholicism, faith is expected for participation in sacraments. But, when it comes to attending church, calling yourself a Christian, one has to consider Christ himself. Would he be angry that someone called themselves a Christian, sought faith, but carried doubts? Plain and simple... no.

Would he be angry if your doubts carried you to the conclusion of atheism? No.

In the end, it's your journey, your truths.

You are wise beyond your years karrie. The journey home is a personal one. There are many paths, but only one for each individual. We can choose one that has been traveled before or we can choose one that is unique to us. It matters very little as long as eventually you make it home and home is where the heart is.

We are bored with the meaninglessness of it all?

To me a good bowel evacuation in the morning can be a divine experience. I don't need much more than that.

God created your bowels Cliffy because she knew you would enjoy using them. I cannot believe that you think you evolved them over thousands of constipated years.
HEY! Don't attach the feminine gender to that critter, please. Females are all about nurturing and it's blatantly obvious that gods don't nurture anything on Earth.

Anna, are you so isolated on the western frontier that you have not heard that science has proven god to be a voluptuous pokadot skinned women who runs the whole thing?

For all the effects that gods have on me, I don't care what science proves about gods. Women take better care of living things (at least the non-icky ones) than men do. So if this Christian god has a gender, and I doubt that it does, it sure isn't female.

You believe that women take better care of the non-icky living things than men do and as I have indicated by speaking of god in feminine terms so do I. Any omnipotent god must be a collage of gender. Women have for centurys wanted to replace the curtains and shuffle the international furniture arround surrounded by ten or fifteen replicants, I am of the opinion that the sex would be a lot better if men arranged for this to happen with gods help and permission of course. The planet is in crisis teetering on the edge and I believe we would be in error if at this last moment we did not hand the tiller into competent nurturing feminine hands. Thank god we are not allowed to do extreme-icky stuff like expelling a baby.
so we don't get caught holding it by you know who

Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib, not from his feet to be walked on, not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal! Under the arm to be protected, & next to the heart to be loved.

First, you lead em into God's destruction by offering Christianity then by saying "is good enough" forces em into hypocriscy, as how can you have faith in something they know nothing about?

First thing is to tell the TRUTH, if you don't know anything about it just say so, for heavens sake don't lie and hold false faith.
