Well we should have a Meech Lake Accord 2.0.now that the fruit is ripe

All that we really want is being more autonomous and be part of Canada on equal footing. But the fact that the federal government was and is still so stuck up left us separation as a way to get our autonomy.

Welcome to Canadian Content Forums Dentsdelion!!! In your post above, who's
the "we" you speak of?

Canadian's?
Just Quebec?
All Canadian Provinces?
Just some people in Quebec?

.....No job in fed govt. if ya can't parlez.
....no speaka English in que or put up an English sign.
....on and on.
....Less than 5% of our population is French speaking and we have to put up with your childish shyte.
...."more autonomous on an equal footing" my ass. WE (ENG.SPEAKING) would like to try some of that autonomy. Thanks.

Well, which is it? "More autonomous" or "be part of Canada on equal footing?" I'm not following that line of thinking too well. "Equal" with what? The other provinces? Canada? More details, please...

Fine by me. We natives would love to have our own gov't and have more say than anyone else over what goes on in our traditional lands, too. hhhmmm, I guess that puts anyone of European extraction at a disadvantage. Go figure.
We are all special, in an individualistic sense, but collectively we are all just humans and not that special.

TOO LATE!!!!:angry3:
Quebec is not the only province that seems to want out.
To me quebec may not be the real problem as Ottawa is and it's need to hold on to power over the provinces. We have too much redundancy of government imo. It could be trimmed down.
I bitch at quebec too and i live here!

This isn't a unique idea to Quebec. Many have issues with the current Organization.
Most are just tired of hearing about those that are complaining....and I'd be shocked
if that isn't the case in Quebec also, as well as just everywhere else in this Nation....

isn't there missing the Wild Rose party from Alberta?
Didn't know there was so many 8O

Jeez, we Canucks are just one big happy family, eh? If we devoted half the time taken up by whining and bitching about what's wrong with the country, and put it toward making the country work better, we might be surprised at the results we'd see. We can't seem to get past the part of defining what the "issues" are and then moving toward solutions - we're stuck on step 1. Just a passing thought there...

I don't think they're a Separtist Party. :-?

According to a media advisory issued by the party on June 26, 2007, its main emphasis was to be:
  • "Reducing by constitutional means the enormous net outflow of wealth from Albertans to the federal government"
  • "Ensuring that provincial decisions better reflect the mainstream values and priorities of most Albertans"
  • "Ensuring that the party's Leader and MLAs honour their election promises and commitments"

Quebec whines and so do the rest of the country. I see both sides and sometimes there's more in common than you think.

for ALL Canucks as one single group,
we might be surprised at the results we'd see. We can't seem to get past the part of defining what the "issues" are and then moving toward solutions - we're stuck on step 1. Just a passing thought there...
