I always thought cross forum posting was against the rules....

Why should it be against the rules? Has there been a ruling by moderators about this? I have quoted threads and individual posts from canada.com before.

I would have thought anything that appears on the internet is fair game in a discussion.

That is only because he lost the House and Senate during his last two years. You really like muddying the waters, don't you.

Oh please. Muddying the waters. He did not lose the house and senate until two years before he left office. The Left STILL said he was going to invade as well as become dictator of the US.

Bush never needed permission to send troops in Iran. Presidents all have the right to send troops wherever they please w/o Congress. He had no intention to invade Iran...much to the dissapointment of the libs.

Pick on Obama? Furthest thing from my mind.

But thus far NOBODY has explained to a satisfactory degree what qualified Obama to be President, ahead ofJohn McCain. Hell, ahead of Joe Biden, and especially ahead of Sarah Palin.

This petulant, egotistical little boy was elected because in 2008 America was swept up in the rush of the false glory that a black man can become President. America hoped beyond hope that this underqualified narcissist will bring the world to America's side. America suffered under the false impression that racism is dead, forgetting that the biggest racists, like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the entire Black Congressional Caucus are - regrettably - still alive, and so is racism.

Obama's chickens are coming home to roost.

Low 40's approval rating. 10.2% unemployment. Can this sorry punk be anything but Jimmy Carter II?

I often wonder how, as Canadian, some folks think it is their business who is elected south of the border?

I don't know if it's our business or simply that it impacts our business so greatly LW..

We must face reality that our world is intertwined and that what happens there will impact us here. So it's no secret we will discuss it..

But there is no doubt we have no impact on it politically.. Not directly..

Perhaps Bush didn’t, EagleSmack. But the Mafia surrounding him, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz etc. who knows? Dick ‘Darth Vader’ Cheney comes across as an especially bloodthirsty sort.

That was American people, YJ. American people voted for him and thus qualified him to become the president. As to Joan of Arc, I think she had an approval rating of around 30% at election time. While no doubt she helped McCain with the Republican base, she probably lost him a fair number of votes by women.

Low 40s perhaps according to some biased polls. Most reputable polls put his approval rating around 50% or low 50s. And 10.2 % unemployment? You wish. The unemployment figure was revised downwards just today, it stand at 10%, not 10.2%.

Incidentally, the last time USA had double digit unemployment was when you’re Messiah, Reagan was in office.

Won't happen, SirJP. Alberta will join BC, Sask, Yukon and then we will go after Alaska and Washington states as from what I have seen in my travels, the people of both states are more in line with the way Canadians think then the rest of the US, and feel just as ostracized from their central government as many of us in the West once did (at least until we elected the Conservatives). Owning a good chunk of the Pacific coast and all those valuable sea ports, resources, etc will give us the power to keep the states at bay.:lol::lol:

You could well be right Mowich, but I'm not going to bet the pension that it will happen this year.

SirJosephPorter, first, check your grammar.

Second, your nit-picking re unemployment and approval takes tha proverbial cake.

Third, check your unemployment figures. Welcome to the regime of Jimmy Carter II.

YOu're still amongst the living Y.J.- that's good. Your questions are getting too easy. What qualified Obama is more people voted for him.

SirJosephPorter, JLM and TenPenny, I am fully aware hthat there was an election that put this unprepared little boy in the most powerful office in the world.

But let us pretend for a minute that you had been eligible to vote in that election. Based on your posts, it is clear that you would have been part of the politically correct brainwashed and vote for Obama. Can you tell me WHY??

1. Because he said he would change things.
2. His opponent was an old fart, backed up by an idiot.

And because people were fed up with the Bush/Republican agenda. The Republicans were not going to straighten out Bush's mess, and would have just continued to make it worse. At this point, people want a Jimmy Carter, not a Bush.
