I remember I attended Mormon services once in Salt Lake City (I lived there for seven years). Their sacrament is bread and water. They of course do not drink alcohol, so they cannot have wine as part of the sacrament.
The Archbishop involved said that there was no problem with a non-Catholic taking communion if he/she was true in his/her intent...and whereas Harper is most definitely a Christian, the Archbishop had no issues. As far as I know though, according to Catholic Doctrine, only Catholics and Orthodox may partake of Catholic communion, possibly with some exceptions as appears to be the case here. And Anglican is neither Catholic nor Orthodox, and so a special exemption would have to be made for him too.

The only issue is in the minds of people who want to stir up trouble for no useful reason.
Masturbation.I hear most Catholics couldn't care less and its a total non issue.
I think there is much more meat on the strange habit Harper has of constantly being late for world leadership meetings.
Hand washing fetish?
Bladder issues?
Stage fright?
Withdrawal?
Trex
Masturbation.
I don't agree with you at all here. As already stated, if you are in a Catholic Church, they announce that only Catholics are invited to partake in Communion. Personally I find that totally arrogant on the part of the church and totally un-christian like behaviour from the church. I would have declined the wafer just for that reason alone. Anyone and everyone is invited to particpate in my church and no one is expected to take part if they choose not to. He may have felt like I do - that if he did not carry the title he carries, he would not have been invited to particpate so he chose not to. He did nothing wrong. The real issue is that he dis-respected the Body of Christ which means that he doesn't really care about Jesus and the Christian voters.
I'd be asking for jam to put on it. Maybe Harpy thought they wouldn't have any jam and he thought asking for a doggy bag would be uncool so he put it in his pocket. Then again, I used to do that with brussel sprouts so maybe he doesn't like wafers. Maybe he has an allergy to wafers. Our Prime Minister is at it again grabbing the wafer form the priest and viciously shoving the body of Christ in his suit pocket.

Catholics in Canada are upset and are re-evaluating if Conservatives is for them
Canon Law is clear on who can present himself or herself at Mass for reception of the Eucharist. It is someone in full communion with the Holy See, and free of any conscious grave sin. No Anglican, No Evangelical, No Baptist, can accept the Eucharist. None of these recognize it as the Body and Blood of Christ and all are excommunicated from the Church. If Harper had any class he would have simply remained in his place in a dignified manner, rather than blunder up and impose a gross indignity on the Host and Catholic Faith.
Harper is a fool. The way he handled this, ideological, intellectually shallow with little understanding of what he is dealing with, is the way he has handled his office. He owes Catholics an apology, and should pray to God for forgiveness for offending Christ in such a egregious way.
