Quandry, most of the things are not practiced in the way you wrote of them. Quoting the bible does not impress me. What impresses me is people who show love and understanding and who truly want to heal those who are living a sinful life.
Please do not call out certain religions. How do you know you are right? If you want to simplify life spread his message without naming people. That only inflames people who might not be truly believers in Christ.

If you just post his message without the name calling then people who feel they have accepted Christ but not fully to your satisfaction can read the words of God themselves and make a choice. People who say they are Christians but cannot forgive as is said in the Lord's prayer are not true followers of Christ.

If people cannot for themselves see evil from the news and what have you then your message will also be lost on the non-believers.

I am not defending the past, it cannot be changed. I look towards God's wisdom to heal all of God's followers. If on my journey the church I belong does not meet my spiritual needs and does meet what God has called me to be then I'll move on. People cannot paint the brush of sin on a whole majority when they cannot possibly look into the hearts of all and know what they privately feel and practice. I pray for all God's followers to spread his Good Words that can bring true peace to those who choose to believe in Christ.

I paint it as i see it m8 ,i love God and i do what i can to help the little people in this world to stand on thier own two feet i neither need a church or a priest to tell me what God wants or wishes ,it has been etched into my very fiber on my heart and on my soul ,you say
If on my journey the church I belong does not meet my spiritual needs and does meet what God has called me to be then I'll move on.
then that time is here because you have been feed a lie ,regardless of whether you wish to call your self Christian or not ,if your church is the Catholic Church ,one of the RICHES in the world does that not tell you something about them ,it does me pal ,it tells me that they worship money ,like all the other scumbags that do so,your precious Catholic church shows its true colours and i dont like what i see heres an example of THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE NWO

Everyone needs fellowship

Every person who reads the bible interprets it differently. There are some straight forward things in it such as the 10 commandments and Jesus' commandments that He proclaimed we should follow. Instead of proclaiming the evil that men do proclaim the things that true followers of Christ do to teach and be an example for those willing to see. Don't throw out all the good with the bad in proclaiming people, whom you do not know, to be sinners.

Many of us are stubborn at times and can easily be full of self riteousness and an "I can do no wrong attitude." Rather than waisting time pointing out which religions have got it wrong be a follower who is above all the name calling and share what's right. Share with believers, some-what believers and non-believers alike. Point out true evils in the world at this time such as greed and war. You don't have to call out and always confront, evil doers no who they are. It is our youth who need to be made to understand not the old and dying. Plant the seeds in the young of all churches and pray to God his word takes firm root. Sometimes you have to understand that not all need to be saved and not all who need saving can be saved. Not everyone is put to the test, just those God has called to spread His Word.

I cannot deny what was done in the past. I am not an historian. I can only look to the future and pray that God gives me the strength, the courage, and the wisdom to stand up and be heard. Christians who follow all of God's words to the letter don't need me to help interpret His word. I choose to be where I'm needed. I can't only go where I'm wanted. I know I will be at peace as long I keep the Lord's words inside my heart. I hope all believers in Christ can accept his challenge to dare to go where they are not wanted or do the things that are not of your heart's desire but can help others.

Some good points have been made in this thread. I only wish some could have made their points with a little more dignity and respect, then maybe they would be taken seriously. Not everyone thinks the same. You have to give people time to swallow ideas that may be new to them or things they never thought about before. People who protest wildly are never heard or understood even if their words are true. Discussions such as this, however are needed to try and unite all of Christ's followers. If his followers cannot agree how can those who have never heard his words believe?

You Hypocrite

You don't have to call out and always confront, evil doers
yes you do ,i confront the evil that i see and so should others.!!!!
evil doers know who they are
Oh so because they know who they are means that the good should do nothing, and leave it to the conscience of these evil people to change their ways b/s
It is our youth who need to be made to understand not the old and dying
so they to can be courted by these paedophile priest yea right .
Sometimes you have to understand that not all need to be saved and not all who need saving can be saved
read your bible again m8 it says we all need to be saved ,none of us are guilt free none not even YOU
Not everyone is put to the test, just those God has called to spread His Word.
More of your rubbish god puts us all to the test ,their is no partiality with god
I cannot deny what was done in the past. I am not an historian. I can only look to the future and pray that God gives me the strength, the courage, and the wisdom to stand up and be heard.
you cannot deny it so you would rather not confront it and shy away is that what you mean
. I choose to be where I'm needed. I can't only go where I'm wanted.
This is a strange thing to say cos i do not choose where I'm needed i only go where I'm wanted
I know I will be at peace as long I keep the Lord's words inside my heart.
how very pious of you i must say
I hope all believers in Christ can accept his challenge to dare to go where they are not wanted or do the things that are not of your heart's desire but can help others.
different to what you were saying earlier about choosing to go where your needed then.
Some good points have been made in this thread. I only wish some could have made their points with a little more dignity and respect, then maybe they would be taken seriously.
Again because these dont fit with the way you would like you use soft words to say ****ty things, what can be dignified about a NAZI POPE or the fact that the Catholic Church worships SATAN with its bent cross and the upside-down cross ,and its paedophile priest yea right, more of your own holier then tho attitude,i see.
Not everyone thinks the same. You have to give people time to swallow ideas that may be new to them or things they never thought about before.
so because you haven't heard these things ,means the rest of us who have should wait around for you to catch up.no way
People who protest wildly are never heard or understood even if their words are true.
because the sick refuse to listen to what's being told them and it shocks their belief system,i would use a bible quote here but you don't like people quoting the good book do you
Discussions such as this, however are needed to try and unite all of Christ's followers. If his followers cannot agree how can those who have never heard his words believe?
by learning that there are many ways to god, not just your way or the high way pal.

As a non believer, many of the points you made I also have noticed when posting, as many of the 'believers' come from a, 'we are perfect, you are bad' ,position, and I
do believe there are good and bad in all types of people, and, because I am a non believer, doesn't mean I am a non productive person on this earth, as I have good intentions of living my life in a very good way.
We don't 'all' have to be believers, to have a complete life, and when we die, as non
believers, we have died with a sincere belief that our life was 'right' for us.

A final thought

I hope non-believers never feel threatened by people trying to spread God's word.
Good Christians will share insights with you when you want to listen, but sometimes you will hear His word even when you don't, and you will see deeds done by His followers without knowing. Seeing won't make you believe but good deeds are examples of how to live. However the good examples of non-believers give those who have heard God's word even more strength to carry on.

At the end of the day if you can honestly say you have not done wrong to others or yourself and were helpful to people, maybe even a stranger, then that is all any living person can ask of you. If you didn't quite do as well as you would like then pick yourself up and do better tommorow.

This thread has taught me much and left me much to think about.

Maybe I've totally misunderstood you and you've totally misunderstood me. I got into to this thread to see what other Christians think. I never said I practiced everything in the Catholic Church. I am at a crossroads. At this point I want to try and help my church the way I know how. The souls within it are worth the risk to me to reform from within at grass roots level. When I said I go where I'm needed I meant it. If I'm wanted then more the better and easier for me. When I'm wanted but know longer needed then it is time to go to a new place. (Yes I am quoting Nanny McPhee, and will probably burn hell)

Don't let my poor attempts at humor take away from my sincerity. If you don't trust what I say that is your perrogative, but my words in this thread are not meant only for you and don't only have to do with Catholicism.

Please continue to fight the good fight from the outside looking in. But remember to lighten up. With all of your talk of the Devil I was beginning to think that you were the lost son of the "Church Lady" from Saturday Night Live.

I wonder how many Catholics know that are NOT the original Church as they are told. The Original Church is Greek. Have a look, where did Paul go, where did he first setup Churches..they were all Greek, the Romans were against it, jailed them, stoned them while Greece allowed the faith to prosper. It was not until 400 years later the Roman Church was to start.

Quite so, Ottawabill, heterodox churches had indeed appeared later but this does not automatically mean that today's Greek church is the same as the Byzantine church either.

Just by the way.

From a bald yeti's point of view, Christianity may have a chance to became a serious religion again, but only so with an updated creed: something like: "I believe in God almighty; whist I know that the Evolution Theory is a hoax..." etc.

Secondly, next to the list of these 1000 or so saints and martirs, a new list of names is about 150 years overdue: a list mentioning priests who had deared to open their mouths against the Evolution Theory in resolute terms. The next entry into such list would probably make a total of one. One wonders why?

As a former Roman Catholic, who has had family members who were Baptist, Anglican, and a bunch of other sects of Christianity, all I have to say is that it's all the same with different approaches, so who cares?

You can list off a bunch of reasons why you feel Roman Catholics are not Christian, and I can list off a bunch of reasons why other schisms are not Christian..... it goes both ways.

So since none of them can agree on one another's position, and none of them are perfect themselves, and they all interpreted things out of the Bible in their own ways.... who is to say which one is more right then the other?

None of them are.

Therefore if Roman Catholics are not Christian, then neither are any of the other groups.

I wonder how many Catholics know that are NOT the original Church as they are told.

I was never told this, where do you get your information?.... common sense would say that of course Roman Catholics were not the first Christianity Group.... Did Jesus run around and claim to be teaching Roman Catholic? No.... how about Baptist? No.... the term Chrstianity didn't even come about until after he apparently died.

The Original Church is Greek. Have a look, where did Paul go, where did he first setup Churches..they were all Greek, the Romans were against it, jailed them, stoned them while Greece allowed the faith to prosper. It was not until 400 years later the Roman Church was to start.

You do realise that it doesn't really matter who did what first..... the thing I find funny is how some here are trying to prove one way or another which sect was the first one or not, as if it makes a difference.

Everything everybody knows and understands about Christianity today is based on word of mouth stories passed down for centuries, which were later written up by countless "Gospels" who all had their own stories, where a select 4 were picked out of the bunch because apparently "They were the guys who were still around when Jesus lived, so must be more accurate then the others" Even though they apparently lived a hell of a lot longer then the normal life expectancy of a typical human of that time and the stories were still passed around by word of mouth.

So the Bible still isn't the "Word of the Lord" but the "Word of Other Humans" which apparently everybody in Christianity hold to and believe as being religious fact, when it couldn't be further from the truth.

The Bible doesn't answer all the questions, it raises more questions and not only that, it contradicts itself numerous times..... a perfect sign of being created by flawed, everyday average humans.

And since the Bible is imperfect and was created by man, it's no suprise that so many schisms have occured and broke up Christianity into so many pieces.... all because humans decided to interpret other human's explinations and stories to what makes sense to them and the way they wish to follow the religion.

They all claim to be right, yet they are all wrong..... they all think they are interpreting the Bible the "Right Way" ~ But if it was written and created by man, and man is flawed, then the Bible is flawed, therefore any interpretation is also flawed..... thus no one could ever be right in how they interpret the Bible and the Religion.

No ONE would be threatened by gods word if it came out of the mouths of GOD fearing people ,The Catholic Church IS NOT ONE OF THOSE

Do you even know wtf you're talking about? Are you Catholic to know wtf you're talking about?

My guess is no.

To claim that Catholics are not God Fearing people is totally ignorant.... if anything they're the most God fearing.... frig, everyday you wake up as a Catholic you somehow sinned.... you were born into sin.... your parents having you is a sin..... frig, I bet somewhere in the teachings if you gotta take a dump, you're sinning.

I grew up basically understanding that as a Human.... as a Catholic, we are sinners from day one and we have to continually strive to be free of sin in order to get into Heaven.... if not, then you burn in hell for all eternity.

No sex before marriage..... no living with someone of the opposite sex unless you're married.... Homosexuality is forbidden...... frig, all the good stuff is shunned and will be one step to your continual suffering in hell...... because God loves you.

Meanwhile all the other religions just tell you "Oh, well just be a gosh darn good person and smile everyday and you're doing good. If you screw up.... oh well there's always tomorrow...."

^ How the hell can you say Catholics are not God Fearing? For as long as I could remember I was taught to be nothing but scared sh*tless of God, which is why most Catholics tend to step on eggshells through their entire lives..... or they become someone like me.... who gives up on all that crap and do things my way (their way)

I've been in many other christian churches and seen how they practice and it's all sunshine and rainbows...... Catholics are always in the mentality that they continually owe God and Jesus something...... like you life is owed to the Mafia and someday they're gonna come and collect.

Quand, unless you were or are a Catholic, don't go spewing your crap about what you think the religion is or isn't, cuz you clearly don't have a clue..... hell I left the religion, hate the religion, and taken my own path..... but I still understand it and respect it, and I seem to know a lot more about the Catholic aspect of the church then you do.

Slightly more on topic now:

I have read the whole Bible and can quite confidently say that the quotes from the bible I gave above are never contradicted, although I am sure you didn't read them anyway. The beliefs of Catholicism on the other hand DO contradict what is written in the Bible (as stated in the first post).

No you can't find support for pretty much anything, including the Catholic traditions stated in the first post.

You are aware half the stuff in the bible was written in by Catholics and continues on in your protestant bible. Only the second batch of major changes (the Apocryphals) are not in protestant bibles.

The first major batch and all the little ones through the years are still in there. The Protestant tradition is about taxation policies (tithing) and little else besides greed. Greed to keep the money versus the Catholic greed to take the money.

Hell, nothing in the new testament even says homosexuality is wrong. Only being effiminate, or defiling yourself with mankind (more of a prohibition on groupsex as it doesn't specify women over men defiling themselves with mankind). Romans describes a curse in which men also burned with lust for men, but never says that it is wrong.

Catholics are Christians, if they aren't, then Protestants, being Catholics in a state of Protest, with everything you believe in being descended from Catholocism, are also not christians. Sorry, thats historical fact.

As for the Greek/Catholic split, that happened in 1086 I believe? Over the status of the Pope vs the Other bishops/Patriarchs.

The Oriental Catholic (including Greek at that point) split happened in 451 over a dispute on the humanity of Christ, Oriental Orthodox took one view, Roman (and greeks were roman then) Catholic took another..and protestants took their views from this branch.
