Northern Ontario,
It's ironic, Cliffy, you show disdain for pretty well all aspects and facets of 21st century life and yet a lot of your philosophy is based on what you can glean from some of the most questionable media sources. It's little use expounding on "facts" (as you see them) if you don't have a reliable source. :)

Probably not a hell of a lot but at least (I think) one of the main endeavours is to get some figures in a book to balance. :) Pure economics is probably O.K. but how closely business management is tied to that, is questionable. :)

You are conflating the physical sciences with the social sciences. The social sciences are less precise, mostly because we tend to frown on experimenting on humans (as the Nazis found out). That doesn't make them useless.

Most of the fields you mentioned require a high aptitude for mathematics. Most people don't have that level of aptitude. Should they all be janitors? Or are you willing to admit that people with degrees in psychology, or English, or business management, or economics, can be useful in society?

I'm willing to admit that people who don't have degrees in anything can be useful in society and in many cases more useful than the people who do. (Oops, I'm starting to sound like Cliffy)

How much of business management, or economics, are based on proven facts?

All of it. Proven fact 1 f you don't make a profit you will soon be bankrupt.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with anything constructive, but a lot young people now days, if they are unsure of anything study psychology. How many jobs does that prepare you for? Is it a proven discipline like physics, architecture, medicine or engineering? How much psychology is based on proven facts? Maybe it's nothing more than a distraction from anything real and concrete. What has a psychologist built, repaired or invented?

It qualify them for a job as professional paid protester.

I'm willing to admit that people who don't have degrees in anything can be useful in society and in many cases more useful than the people who do. (Oops, I'm starting to sound like Cliffy)

The most successful business people I know don't have degrees. A degree mostly just means you were able to regurgitate what you were told.

31,000 Toys 'R' Us employees: No job and no severance

The news that Toys "R" Us is closing might conjure up wistful childhood memories for shoppers. But for the chain's 31,000 U.S. employees, it means they're out of a job.

Many employees told CNN the shutdown caught them by surprise, even though the chain filed for bankruptcy back in September, and said in January that it would close nearly 200 locations.
Do you work at Toys 'R' Us? We want to hear from you
"When they announced 182 stores closing and my store wasn't on the list, I thought I'd be OK," said one Florida employee who spoke to CNN.
That employee, a 39-year old mother of three boys, said she's worked at the store for 12 years and hoped to remain there until her youngest, now 8 years old, was grown.
"They loved it," she said. "Whenever they came to the store, they never wanted to leave."

I,m a capitalist, I make stuff you need, capitalism is not a crime against humanity, you must pay for your passage, work will set you free, I don,t like the ide4a myself but there it is

Work is forever, it builds character, pounded into perfection by time on task of course
