Toronto Police are pushing back at CTV host Marci Ien’s “driving while black” claim and have challenged her to lay an official complaint.
(Oh- so she has NOT officially complained about anything- she has just used her prominent position in society to bitch at cops and make unproven allegations in the usual cop hating LIE-beral style!)
Chief Mark Saunders has even offered to view the squad car tape and audio with her.
(And I guess Ien has refused to watch the tape or discuss her driving because she believes in Black voodoo- that magical formula stipulating that if she insists loudly enough that “I didnt do nothin’ so why are you bothering me”, then her cop troubles will disappear! Black faith in this voodoo is amazing and they believe it will work on and save them from anything from a ticket to first degree murder!)
That tape, according to Staff-Supt. Mario Di Tommaso — Toronto Police’s fifth in command — shows a routine traffic stop, not an act of racism or profiling.
“I have viewed the video footage of your vehicle stop,” tweeted Di Tommaso. “You were stopped because of your driving behaviour. You failed to stop at a stop sign. It was dark. Your race was not visible on the video and only became apparent when you stepped out of the vehicle in your driveway.”

However, in a column in the Globe and Mail — with the headline “The double standard of driving while black – in Canada,” — award-winning Ien, a host on CTV’s The Social and former co-host of Canada AM, wrote “for the third time in eight months, I was being questioned by a police officer — and I had broken no law.” She added “that I co-host a national television show didn’t matter. That I have lived in the neighbourhood for 13 years didn’t matter. But being black mattered.”
(Ah- so she IS using her position in the media to promote racist crap! Her job title is NOT relevant in a defence against being a crappy driver! Nor is the term of her residency relevant either- one does not get the privilege to IGNORE traffic laws along with long term residency!)
Ien described pulling “into my driveway” where a “police cruiser was parked behind me — lights flashing.”
(Oh GOSH! Cops USUALLY turn on their lights when they are trying to attract your attention and get you to stop!)
She wrote that after being told to “get back in your vehicle,” he said “you failed to stop at a stop sign back there. That’s dangerous, there’s a school there … lots of kids,” but decided “I’m going to give you a warning. Be careful driving out there.” But “upset,” Ien said all three stops “the initial questions had been the same: ‘Do you live around here? Is this your vehicle?’ In every case, I wasn’t issued a ticket.”
Ien, who does not identify the race of the officer, said while Canada is diverse, “racism permeates every aspect of our society.”
(OH RIGHT! And why doesnt Ien tell us what the other traffic stops were for? Has she developed a habit of doing a rolling stop at the intersection near her home thanks to her “long residency” and sense of entitlement? And how often have you seen a police cruiser staked out in a residential area? It sure aint common where I live so should we ask if Ien is such a crappy driver that the neighbours have complained? Ien has not responded to Toronto Police tweets but told me she has “talked a lot over the last couple of days” with the CBC’s Dwight Drummond, who in 1995, was famously pulled over in a high-risk takedown by Toronto Police on Dundas St. E., after an early morning snack purchase at George’s BBQ. Drummond became one of Canada’s top crime reporters and news anchors and is highly respected by police officers.

The police and Drummond found a way to put it behind them and hopefully that will happen here, too.

While Marci may be my favourite person on Canadian TV, if I call it straight, what she describes is not racism but a cop cutting her a break. Marci’s entitled to have her own perception, but for suggestions of racial profiling and racism, there needs to be solid evidence. Remember, police officers are entitled to their safety perceptions when approaching vehicles, too.
“She made some very serious comments and I would invite her to lay a complaint to the Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD),” said TPS spokesman Mark Pugash, who added the service “stands behind” the tweets by Di Tommaso and Coxon.

Marci told me she has not formally complained. This is a tough situation for a lot of reasons — not withstanding Marci Ien is a terrific professional, mother of two, and a national treasure. Her concerns should not be discounted but need to be verified.

Like with the Hijab Hoax, racism allegations must be fully vetted. An investigation could happen, but Ien, Saunders and the officer involved hugging it out — with lessons learned — would be my preference.
People react and have emotions but accusations of racism against cops should be backed up with proof.

A woman driving in California’s Bay Area reportedly won’t face charges after being caught on video uttering racist insults and mimicking Asian facial features in an alleged road rage incident.
James Ahn, who is from Seoul, South Korea, posted a video to Facebook on Monday showing the woman — who appears to have an accent — telling him to leave the country while both of them were driving in Fremont, north of San Jose.
“This is not your f—— country. This is my country,” the woman said.
“Oh my God, Chinese ugly, ugly Chinese,” the woman added.
Ahn wrote he was going the speed limit while the woman wanted to drive faster. He added his friend started recording the rant to ensure he had evidence of the incident if it escalated further.
“FYI racist lady, this is my country since I am a citizen plus veteran currently serving this country. Do not disrespect anyone by their race!” Ahn added.
Ahn contacted Fremont police on Wednesday alleging a hate crime had been committed, but no charges will be laid.
“All that we could establish is that this was derogatory remarks between two parties,” Fremont police spokesperson Geneva Bosques told the New York Post. “There was no threat and there was no crime committed.
Ahn wrote an update Thursday after Facebook mistakenly removed his post, thanking the public for their comments and support.
“My only intention for sharing this video was to inform the Fremont residents about this person’s misbehaviour in public so that anyone who recognizes her can avoid her for their safety.”

TORONTO - Ontario Power Generation did not publicly consult on a maximum $3.8-million salary for its CEO or up to $8 million in raises for about 80 executives.

But the Liberal government won’t order the nuclear operator to redo its public consultation to include the dollar figures, as it acted “in good faith.”
(Just as LIE-berals acted “in good faith with their gas plant. E-health, ORNGE and assorted other scandals”! And now that the election is near and Ford has made OPG/Hydro One salaries an election issue and LIE-berals are running scared and have told us not to worry- they will have an “independent third party” review those salaries- right after they get re-elected! OH JOY! That means a bunch of LIE-beral PALS will be very well paid to tell us we are getting good value from goofs running the most costly and least reliable electrical system in North America! That LIE-beral assurance DOES NOT make me feel safe and warm!)
As a wage freeze lifts, all broader public sector agencies have until September to post their proposals for new executive compensation packages under a framework that caps salaries at the 50th percentile of “appropriate comparators.”
The Progressive Conservatives have been making political hay over the OPG salary caps and raises, as well as a potential raise of up to $118,000 for the head of transit agency Metrolinx, criticizing the government over the large amounts while “regular families struggle to make ends meet.”
(It does not help the Metrolinx image that in spring 2017, Wynne-bag LIE-berals got frustrated over the spending scandals showing up at Metrolinx offices and decided an audit was needed- and Metrolinx chiefs pretty much told LIE-berals to stuff it- such a review WAS NOT NEEDED! LIE-berals never did produce a report but the point was made- that Metrolinx civil service Hogs needed to do a better job of hiding their dirt -especially with the election coming and Wynne-bag sitting at 11 percent support in the polls at the time! The message was loud and clear for Metrolinx Hogs- stop PUBLICLY rocking the LIE-beral boat or somebody like Ford would derail the Hog gravy train! But it will be a new game with LOTS of gravy for Hogs if LIE-berals win this coming election! If LIE-berals do win again then there will be NO NEED for spending restraint! With the idiot NDP cousins running along behind shouting “me too” for gravy!)
Treasury Board President Liz Sandals brushed aside concerns over the optics when she was asked how she thinks the raises look to people sitting on a delayed GO train.
“When you really stop and think of it, most of the people sitting on the GO train probably don’t have high-level nuclear qualifications or the business qualifications to run a multi-billion-dollar corporation,” she said. “The talent is exceptional to be in those exceptional positions.”
(Is Sandals telling us are too stupid to worry about being stranded? Sounds like it!)
OPG, which operates two nuclear sites and is responsible for more than $40 billion in assets, was granted permission by the government to use private-sector comparators because of its unique size and scope.
(Yes- and OPG USED TO Operate the Bruce nuclear power station but had it taken away and put in the hand of a British Consortium because there were not enough skilled OPG Hogs to handle the job! The choice to go with the Brits was a warning shot across Hog bows- meaning “you are relatively unskilled and are more easily replaced than you think- so do not get to greedy for gravy- a harsh message OPG Hogs have been ignoring for years! )
It posted an 11-page document on its website through December for public consultation that detailed how it calculated executive salary caps, but didn’t actually post the caps themselves on a 12th page until Jan. 1, when the consultation was over.
(Oh yes- pubic consultations which involve NOT showing the truth are ever useful- for LIE-beral propagandists! And is it not awkward that OPG must now often hire retired sailors with past experience operating Yankee, Brit and French nuclear submarines since there is no other source of personnel trained to modern standards available! Sure there are some Cdns with nuclear knowledge but its older information- its why Atomic Energy Canada TRIED AND FAILED to produce a replacement reactor at Chalk River- since the old reactor-the one producing one third of all medical isotopes was worn out! So the most skilled nuclear operators are ex military people who are tired of the navy life and want something else- its not like we NEED to bribe them so desperately since there are lots of nuclear sub crews around and relatively few nuclear power generators! Its just a LIE-beral habit to BUY votes and loyalty with excessive gobs of gravy!)
The Treasury Board, the department that controls the government purse strings, said OPG was the first public sector agency to undergo the process and OPG “worked in good faith” to ensure the final document was in compliance. The government is reminding all broader public sector organizations going forward that they must post their salary caps during the public comment phase.
(Uh-huh! And the salary cap has come off for senior people at colleges and universities and THEY think a FIFTY PERCENT RAISE RIGHT NOW would do just fine! The LIE-beral solution to this gravy grab has been to tell the professors to SHUT UP TILL AFTER THE ELECTION! Ford is right to be worried about OPG gravy grabbers!)
OPG received four public comments during its consultation. Sandals admitted it’s “entirely possible” they would have received more if the dollar figures were included.
(Oh- I would say the public mood about OPG raises WAS CLEAR- since Wynne-bag support hit 11 percent at the time! But the always generous with OUR money Wynne-bag offered up those nice 4 year contracts to Hogs in January 2018! And greedy Hogs recognized that LIE-berals were on the way out and half a loaf was better than NONE- so they accepted the LIE-beral gravy and recognized it was the best LIE-berals could offer at the time- but as mentioned- if LIE-berals DO win this next election we are GUARANTEED they will go on a tax grabbing, Viking style, looting and pillaging spree of HUGE proportions to gather the gravy they need to pay the IMMENSE IOU`s that Hogs are holding!)

Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault said OPG was experiencing a brain drain, so retention is important.
(A brain drain- the LIE-beral says? Would that brain drain be related to the habit of OPG and other Hogs retiring very young on those wonderful Hog pensions that LIE-berals offer? We know- for instance that Ellen Clitheroe was Hydro chief for 3 years and so abused her expense account and position during those 3 years that even LIE-berals were embarrassed, so she was fired- and retired on a pension of $337,000.00 per year! She went on to become an Anglican minister and then launched a law suit against govt- whining that her $337 grand pension was not enough to live on!)
Former Liberal energy minister George Smitherman weighed in Wednesday night on Twitter, writing that Thibeault has “taken the nuclear bait in allowing CEO salary to go hog wild” and urging Thibeault to “get a backbone.”
Thibeault said a $3.8-million cap is not “hog wild.”
(Oh no doubt- a LIE-beral would think such salary sums ARE trivial- which is WHY LIE-berals are facing disaster in the coming June election!
OPG has said the CEO’s salary will actually remain unchanged for three years, but the other approximately 80 executives will now be eligible for merit pay, and when the new program is fully implemented in 2019, that’s expected to cost an extra $6 million to $8 million annually.

White neighbour gets prison for ethnic intimidation, harassment of black family

EASTON, Pa. — A neighbour accused of harassing and using racial epithets against a black Pennsylvania family for years has been sentenced to prison.
A Northampton County judge sentenced 45-year-old Robert Kujawa to the term Friday after a jury convicted him of ethnic intimidation, harassment and stalking, the (Allentown) Morning Call reported.
Prosecutors said Kujawa hung Confederate flags in the windows of his Bethlehem Township home, but only those facing the black family’s residence, and used a racial slur against the woman and her son when they were in the backyard. Kujawa’s attorney denied his client, who is white, used the slur.
Family members said the man used a pellet gun to shoot out their outdoor lights and damage their furniture.
Judge Jennifer Sletvold noted that Kujawa was convicted of harassment of the family in 2015 and the following year admitted to reckless endangerment.
“Over the course of many years, Mr. Kujawa robbed this family of their peace,” Sletvold said.
Kujawa apologized Friday, saying he is losing his home to foreclosure and he intends to leave the state once his 10th-grade daughter graduates.
“I’m really remorseful,” he said. “I’m really sorry that it got to this point.”
Assistant District Attorney Abraham Kassis said Kujawa’s prosecution ends a long ordeal for the family, who he praised for their restraint in turning to police. Family members said they bought a security system, lighting and a fence but were afraid to allow their sons to play in the yard.

EASTON, Pa. — A neighbour accused of harassing and using racial epithets against a black Pennsylvania family for years has been sentenced to prison.
A Northampton County judge sentenced 45-year-old Robert Kujawa to the term Friday after a jury convicted him of ethnic intimidation, harassment and stalking, the (Allentown) Morning Call reported.
Prosecutors said Kujawa hung Confederate flags in the windows of his Bethlehem Township home, but only those facing the black family’s residence, and used a racial slur against the woman and her son when they were in the backyard. Kujawa’s attorney denied his client, who is white, used the slur.
Family members said the man used a pellet gun to shoot out their outdoor lights and damage their furniture.
Judge Jennifer Sletvold noted that Kujawa was convicted of harassment of the family in 2015 and the following year admitted to reckless endangerment.
“Over the course of many years, Mr. Kujawa robbed this family of their peace,” Sletvold said.
Kujawa apologized Friday, saying he is losing his home to foreclosure and he intends to leave the state once his 10th-grade daughter graduates.
“I’m really remorseful,” he said. “I’m really sorry that it got to this point.”
Assistant District Attorney Abraham Kassis said Kujawa’s prosecution ends a long ordeal for the family, who he praised for their restraint in turning to police. Family members said they bought a security system, lighting and a fence but were afraid to allow their sons to play in the yard.

She wants to be Mississauga Centre’s MPP, but if she wins don’t ask this NDP candidate to wear a poppy on Remembrance Day.
“I just wear my peace button on my jacket as always and wait for the collective brainwashing to blow over,” said Laura Kaminker in a 2014 blog post.
“When our masters give the signal, everyone can take off the fake poppy — made with prison labour — and create a bit more landfill. And another annual ritual of war glorification comes to a close.”
(OH right! This is nothing but NDP revisionist history! The Imperial German attack on 1914 France and Russia was nothing more than armed robbery! Germans felt just as entitled as the guy who steals your car- to take what they wanted! As for Nazi Germany- that was way beyond armed robbery- it was nothing less than a war of GENOCIDE! Does our idiot NDP not realize that Nazis intended to kill off every person with a Slavic or Jewish back ground? Does this idiot woman not know that Black American Jesse Owens should have been awarded TWO gold medals at the 1936 Munich Olympics- and that Adolf Hitler REFUSED to award the 2 gold medals to a man he PUBLICLY referred to “as that black animal”! Hitler went on to publicly denounce Yankees for sending the “black animal” to compete with white people! Views are something Kaminker has plenty of.
For example, Laura doesn’t like when the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays or Argos honour troops at games with a standing ovation and a team sweater handed to them by an esteemed member of the alumni.
“Why is war glorified at a baseball game or a hockey game? Why is military worship associated with sporting events? Why should we accept this as normal and natural?” she wrote.
(Apparently this clueless woman has never read anything about life in Nazi Germany, or in Soviet Russia or China under Chairman Mao! Kaminker would have swiftly found some Brown Shirt Nazis beating down her door and beating HER down as well- leaving her bloodied and battered- and considering herself VERY FORTUNATE if she got away without broken bones in exchange for expressing such opinions! And of course as a socialist- Kaminker would be specifically identified as a PUBLIC ENEMY by Nazis! She added, “Is there an assumption that the people who attend sporting events are especially receptive to military propaganda?” She refers to veterans as “heroes” in quotation marks and asks is “every ‘hero’ honoured, every flag waved, every resounding exhortation about the troops ‘protecting our way of life,’ is a conscious act, and a political one.”
(ALL politicians of every stripe gravitate to sports arenas- it is were the large crowds gather- ones that publicity hound politicians want to perform for!)
Laura also is one of those who questioning if in fact 911 was an Al-Qaeda attack?

Originally an American who came north in 2003 out of protest of her home country’s political stance on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Kaminker wrote the commemoration of that day that killed almost 3,000 people including 24 Canadians “makes me want to shout: Go away! Go the [f—] away! All of you fixating on this one event, the whole world expected to stand in hushed silence because a bad thing happened to Americans.”

She also explains “Marxism 2011 program notes” from a conference she described as a “weekend of inspiration, education, and revolution.”

To be fair, most of these comments go back to 2012, the same time as Tanya Granic Allen’s words about women wearing burkas and on same-sex marriage — words that got her turfed from the Progressive Conservative nomination for this same Mississauga Centre riding.
The problem with this election is there has been so much gotcha stuff. It’s endless. It’s relentless. It’s pointless.
(I suggest that it is NOT pointless to expose all the crazy crap floating out there! The Cdn silent majority is slowly rousing itself and beginning to get interested in sweeping away some of the Kooks who infest our schools and govt offices! This IS WAR by political means! I say let it go. Who cares? As long as no is threatened or in danger, it’s not important today.

Personally, I don’t think any of these candidates, if democratically nominated, should be disqualified for what they wrote or said years ago — especially when they are just expressing how they felt at that moment in a country with free speech.
That said, the electorate should be able to see what their positions were so they can make an informed decision if this is someone they want representing them?
(Cdn democracy is robust enough to tolerate the presence of Bloc Quebecois Separatists in parliament -but we are sensible enough NOT to give the Bloc any real power or influence - since they will only use it to hurt us!)
For example if the NDP forms the next Ontario government by getting out how Laura Kaminker felt in 2012, no one will be able say they didn’t know she was at that time against wearing a poppy, supporting our troops at sporting events or someone who attended Marxist conferences.
If she’s elected, all of that will have been put out on the table for voters to decide.
