The Dems and same with the Repubs have a wide variety of views within the party- From what I recall Pelosi had to do tons of arm-twisting on many Dems in the house that were against Obama-care. Tax cut extensions were a trade off from what I recall. But that said I could be in error and I am not going back 4 years to search it out.

Reading back in the spring that the Obama campaign was surprised by the voters who they had listed as supporters who had mover due to the economy. Number were substantial, and I believe they placed this as a higher priority. In swing states these could be a deciding factor- same with students who do not register in the numbers they did and voted during the last election. And going by voting age we can guess that the number who voted were on the very high end for Obama.


I did not see the 1st pres debate but I think I can guarantee that Romney will not be doing a walkover on this one.

After he horns, the whistles and the rhetoric the voters will sober up and Obama
will pull this out of the fire. Harry Truman was said to be defeated even on election
night. he had to win all States west of the Mississippi River and that is what happened.
In this case there are a few key States and Obama will win enough to take the
Electoral College. The problem for Republicans? Another Clinton wave will becoming
in in four years. And when it is over the Republicans will be able to blame the rhetoric
of people like Walter and of course the nonsense from the Tea Party.

Last i heard.. Romney's only chance of victory in the electoral college is to win Ohio.. it's almost impossible for him to win without it.

Hence he spent most of last week in the state.. but still trails by something like 5 % pts. in the polls. Ohio is an industrial state.. or better described as a post industrial state.. part of rust belt America.. and Romney hasn't let off a bit of his Free Trade mantra.

Obama isn't much better, and the Dems are just as culpable in instituting FT.. but there seems to some sense of utter failure of Free Trade to deliver on its promises of the last 30 years in the Democratic party than the ideologically driven Free Market zealots in the Republican party.

I think that'll sink Romney.. regardless of the outcome of the debates.

Yes it sure is nonscensical to want lower taxes and less government,the nerve of those tea partiers wanting
to pay less into the black hole called government.
I for one and most of the rest of thinking Canadians know that another 4 years of the same administration will
not be good for Canada.Therefore i hope your predictions are as lopsided as they are in Canadian politics.
