As a person who has visited the U.S. dozens of times in the past 25 years, I'll tell you what I really think. The chronic, habitual and compulsive bad mouthing of our neighbours is getting very tiresome. I'm not familiar with upper echelon of Washington D.C. but I am very familiar with the man/woman on the street in Washington State, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, California and Montana and they are people who laugh and cry, hurt and bleed just as ordinary Canadians do. They are very helpful and hospitable people and I've never had a bad moment while visiting there.

Well, then someone should tell the USG that Iraqis , Afghans and other areas that they are in active war with....ALSO hurt, bleed, cry when their kids and loved ones are deliberately slaughtered by a far off nation-- like Canadians and AMERICANS do. I think you will find that all levels of society have the same feelings when it comes to basic humanities. EVERYONE knows what fear is.......fear of losing a loved one ( in a war of someone's choice) FEAR of losing their homes. Fear of being raped and then having all the evidence burned (think that gang of US troops that are not fit to be called human but probably got a mere slap on the wrist for this atrocity.)
For every death that Canada has caused in its stupid support of the US invasions......may it have the conscience to realize that those they harmed felt, cried , hurt feared ........like Canadians do.
Place yourself as the target of the US bombs and see how you feel. I guess you support their torture policy too. ( the cute name for it ....to make it more palatable is "enhanced interrogation". Maybe you should volunteer and see what it feels like. That might give you a little human empathy for those being tortured. Those tortured are not even charged with anything. They have been rounded up on little or no substantive information and then held indefinitely.
Now........lets talk about how tiresome the way the US abuses those basic human rights.
