Nothing worse than plugging along in an AFV and seeing a guy jump out of a transport vehicle as he is heading at you doing 60 MPH.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!"
BOOM!

yeah, had that happen to me many a times. I usually try to get those guys back with a sneaky knife to the back

My son would CONSTANTLY call me a noob for laying claymores in alleys on the Strike at Karkand map. Such great fun on BF2.

I was in a pretty good squad and the Sqd Ldr was a real jerk. I always signed up for his squad because he really got you a lot of points. For that though he yelled and swore an awful lot, real foul. So he told this guy while playing Karkand (Infantry Only/ FF Off)...

"Hey F*ing idiot...get rid of that Engineering Kit and get either Support or Medic."

The guy told him to F-Off so the Sqd Ldr kicked him from the squad. But after the guy became a Special Forces and just laid C-4 behind him blowing him all over the map. I laughed so hard and kept feeding the SF guy ammo. He was relentless.

There were all sorts of comedy to be had in BF2. Find a server with friendly fire on and team kill and revive your target indefinitely. I did that to a guy for about 10 minutes once, reported me to EA/Dice lol

Kakand was the best map, I loved rolling through their in an APC mowing people down with the cannon on it. The alleyway fighting was pretty intense too, setup with a light machine gun and shred them up.

Stat padding! Oh yeah. My son was up there in rank but he realized that a portion of it was stat padding. He deleted his screename to start over and do it the right way. I never stat padded.

I loved being a gunner on the Sharqui Penninsula on the MEC Chopper. Boy if you got a good pilot you just hang over the USMC Cobra pad and pound away.

Spawn Camping is always fun.

The main design problem for BF2 with me was they added in the increased power of air from BF1942 in the form of helicopters,

But then never put in a kit with anti-air capabilities (in the same vein as the Anti-Tank)

I wasn't doing it to pad my stats, I was doing it to piss the guy off ;) As soon as he got up from a revive. I would shoot him between the eyes again and so on.

Wake Island was pretty good for sniping, I could be down on the tip of the bigger Island, head shotting guys across the bay on the smaller island.

I was pretty horrible as flying anything in Bf2, I could handle the apache but the attack chopper was too finicky for me. Some of the jet pilots had pretty crazy skills too, they could fly at tree level while decimating everyone with cannon fire and bombs.

Hopefully Dice comes out with a true successor to BF2 and soon.

Yeah, the anti-air was pretty bad in BF2, I remember them trying to patch in some fixes to make up for it but it never did much.

The Anti-Tank rounds did nice works on hovering choppers though

Some of the pilots had insane skills. They still do when I play. They don't let you breathe. As soon as you are in a tank etc. they are screaming down at you. Trying to turn a flag, as soon as it goes white you can expect bombs or cannons.

I completed Fallout 1 last week, and am currently playing Fallout 2(in Vault City). Lots of fun!

Durka, if you ever decide to play Fallout 2 again, I would highly recommend getting Killap's unofficial patch(version 1.2.25.0) which you can get from No Mutants Allowed. It fixes a heck of a lot(almost all of them, actually) that still remained even after the official 1.02 patch. A lot more stable, and some of the "lost" endings(due to bad scripting, etc.) have been restored.

I think you have to install the 1.02 patch first, but I am not 100% certain.

I found the Mario Party games fun to play, and kids enjoy them as well. However, the Mario Party games are only available for the Wii.

What systems(or system) would the games be for, talloola?

I'm not even sure if Age of Empires will run on current systems without a little help. However, Age of Empires 3(and the two expansions) came out not too long ago. They look nice(I purchased the Age of Empires 3 Collector's Edition...huge box of goodies!), but I have not had time to try it out. I prefer Turn-Based Strategy myself(such as Heroes of Might & Magic). I just wish that the Heroes games weren't so darned hard anymore. The AI is WAY too tough for me. I found it near impossible from Heroes 3 on to finish the Campaign without entering a cheat code or two to be able to complete the mission.

I aquired Age of Empires 3 a couple of weeks ago and I'm losing waaay too much sleep. You're right, I had to turn off some of the features so the game would run ok.

No, I meant Age of Empires 1 may not work with current systems as it was made for Win98 and Vista doesn't play well with a lot of the older games(yet). Even some of the Win98 games are hard to find a way to play(let alone install) on a computer using XP(such as the one that I am using).

Even removing some features, games like Bioshock and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion look absolutely amazing! Bioshock is one of my favourite games ever. I played it through twice in a row. In one, I chose the "bad" path, and the second time I chose the "good" path. The ending is the main thing that is different, but it was still a blast to play. I think I may play it again sometime in the future. Rare indeed are the games that I want to play through more than once.

They sure are! They were also responsible for Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate! They are also creating Dragon Age right now. I CANNOT WAIT for that game!

According to Wikpedia(which is by no means always accurate) they are developing Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3(shouldn't they see how Mass Effect 2 does before they have the third one in development?;-)).
