There are rednecks everywhere. I had a naturist friend in Berlin who suggested I go canoeing around the country side to see how pretty Germany was. In the next breath he started to warn me about the racist country folk I might find off the beaten path. He seemed really ashamed about it, that there were still people with the Nazi mentality out in the bush. I calmly mentioned that such twats are to be found everywhere.

I am not a bigot and I never was but I met a lot of bigots in Alberta but I listened and I am proud of my eastern values which is more fair

When you describe an entire Canadian province as "Redneck Country" (and based on your previous posts you obviously did not mean that as a term of endearment) you ARE a bigot.

Out in Redneck Country, eh? I didn't realize it had defined legal boundaries.
I read the LINK in the O.P. and unlike the title of this Thread and the first
line of the Opening Post...it doesn't use the term "Redneck" in a derogatory
manner. Actually, it doesn't use the term at all.
Rednecks....real self-identifying Rednecks, can be found in every state and
province in every country on this globe. They are your Neighbours, your
Coworkers, your Friends. They are fixing your car, and dating your Daughter,
and holding the door open at the mall for your Wife. They are your Plumber,
your Electrician, and the people renovating your home. They are everywhere,
and they look just like you and I....and everyone else you have ever met,
regardless of Race or Creed or Color or Gender or Socioeconomic status
or Religious standing....or a complete lack there of.
Using the term in a derogatory manner without seeming to realize that you are
constantly surrounded by Rednecks is careless at best. If you're going to be a
bigot, be aware of your surroundings when you spew your intolerance before
it bites you in the arse. Just a head's up.

What Liberalman means by redneck is any person outside of GTA that is capable of independent thought.

The Alberta redneck has good work ethics they work hard as mules but they have a hard time to listen to reason
Perhaps they are not the ones that are unreasonable?

I'd been to Calgary, Edmonton, Lake Louise, and Wainright, and did not come across anyone I could conclusively identify as a redneck. I may have met some and just didn't know they were, but the ones I did get to know were no rednecks for the most part. At work in Wainright I did meet a few nationalists, including extreme ones and neo-Nazis (one even tattooed accordingly), but they weren't necessarily from Alberta itself, or at least I'd never ascertained that. But except at work, I tried to avoid them.
In Edmonton though I'd met many kind people, no issue there.
So, why did you hang out with so many rednecks on your own time? I actually found it quite easy to find good friends.

You probably wouldn't notice them because they are generally pragmatic, common sense, down to earth, resourceful people............for instance if there's a way of converting an old toilet into a barbecue, they'll find it.

What Liberalman means by redneck is any person outside of GTA that is capable of independent thought.
Perhaps they are not the ones that are unreasonable?

Thumbs up (the only way I can give it............hint, hint, Shadow, Ron)

Forget about the male vote they are counting on the women voters to carry one of them to victory, men will have to play second fiddle in this election and women’s lib have won the day.

In this election women’s issues are front and centre and the men are led out to pasture because let’s face it they are only good for one thing seed planting.

At the end of the day the wooden spoon will rule and the pecking order will be realigned.

Wow, that's the most transparent troll I've seen in a LONG time.

After listening to all your comments and doing a lot of soul searching on being a bigot

According to the dictionary definition I am not a bigot so lets agree to disagree

big·ot

   /ˈbɪgət/ Show Spelled[big-uht] Show IPA

noun
a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

I never called you a bigot. But, certainly you can't say Alberta is necessarily "redneck country".

Two Women’s Fight For Power In Redneck Country

This has to be a first for Alberta politics two women leaders of two Conservative parties fighting for the same voters.

Wildrose who is radically to the right and PCs that are closer to the centre.

Forget about the male vote they are counting on the women voters to carry one of them to victory, men will have to play second fiddle in this election and women’s lib have won the day.

Alberta is the Texas of Canada and the bible belt fanatics which equates to home grown rednecks not that there is anything wrong with that and with their hard working ethics and perseverance and with the guidance of eastern Canada have transformed their province to a successful one and that is why people all over the world including eastern Canadians are going there to share in their wealth.

Judging from your use of grammar i would suspect that English is not your first language. If it is, i suggest that you did not do well in that course during your schooling.
This leads me to doubt your ability to be objective, given you hold yourself out to be liberal. Now "liberalism", aside from the stigma placed on it, is actually responsible for a reformation in society over the past couple hundred years. That reformation has led to what we have today, which is unquestionably much better than what society had prior to that time.

The term "Redneck" was coined by those who considered themselves among the elite that looked down on rural folks or anyone who actually worked at a productive job and has been almost exclusive to urban dwellers. Us "Rednecks", to your good fortune, rather than beating your brains out, merely adopted the term affectionately in defiance of bigoted cityiots.

There is something to be said for conservative wisdom as used to temper uncontrolled liberalism but physical correction can be tempting.

II used to live in Wildrose country Alberta and a lot of people told me not to talk about my eastern values because I was in redneck country and I have talk people who identified themselves as being proud of being rednecks if you take it as derogatory well I am sorry

Please know that I'd never paint everyone in a region of this nation with
the same brush....but I'm curious about these "eastern values" that you
mention. What are they, and what makes them exclusive to....whatever
you think it makes them exclusive to?

In your time in Alberta, did you ever see any wild roses (I mean true wild
roses that where not planted by man)? I did. I was impressed with their
height. Anyway....what are these "eastern values" that the Albertians are
lacking?....in your opinion.

English is my second language and I only write like this to get my views to all within this forum not just the snobby Conservative few that attack language skills in an attempt to muzzle anyone that has a different opinion than the Conservative view.

When I was driving on the Alberta highways I was constantly reminded I was in Wild Rose country

Alberta has western values and the east has eastern value and that is what makes Canada so great
