If Trump stays the course on economic nationalism (and continuing conservative Federal Court judicial appointments) it is highly probable that he will win a second term and will retain the Senate.
That means doubling down on tariffs especially with China and as a permanent long term fixture of U.S. economic policy. If he gets flustered by Wall Street intimidation he'll could lose it all. Nothing that Mueller comes out will prove Collusion with the Russians because it simply didn't happen. Therefor Obstruction of Justice becomes a technical, arbitrary, legal application without any moral weight. Despite CNNs take the last 48 hours simply consolidates Trump's claims of the a witchhunt.
The only thing that irritated me about Trump's actions in the last week was his twitter response to Rex Tillerson's interview in which Tillerson stated that Trump didn't read briefing books (or any books for that matter) and governed from his gut rather than legal formality. Well that's no surprise to anyone who has followed Trump. Everyone should have seen that this state college, mid western, petroleum engineer, oil company executive would mix with this Ivy League, NYC, real estate developer, promoter like oil and water.
Still Trump's personalizing his response by calling Tillerson "dumb as a rock, lazy as hell" and someone he couldn't get rid of fast enough really was really a rude overreaction to some modest comments that have been out there since the start of his administration. Trump's knee jerk, gratuitously combative, response just lacks class and character and could have been handled better.
