There's a lot of truth in what you say. BUT I think that having done what he's done that's led him to the Whitehouse, the down sides you've mentioned are dwarfed by that fact. Now if he's smart, he'll be on his best behaviour from now on and if he succeeds at what he's promised, he'll be elected to another term in four years. (At which time there will be a whole new crop of voters to replace the bunch that will have died off)

All the these mediocrities that have held the office of POTUS over the last 50 years, who have presided over the dismantling of the American Economy, the vast polarization of wealth, its deindustrialization, its corruption into a culture of death and disorder.. who gave us this bleak landscape of ruins of factories and hopelessness.. all had higher ratings going into office than Trump.
Big Deal.. all turned out to be abject failures, shills and puppets, of Free Markets and cultural debauch. They promised change and delivered more of the same. So these lousy, weak, imcompetent weaklings.. Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush sr. and jr. Clinton, Obama.. came in with higher ratings and quickly fell into complete submission to the zeitgeist of the times.. lacking the imagination and the courage to stand up to the disintegrating forces of the Establishment Financial and Trading Cartels... and the New Age Post Structural factions.
I say bully for Trump. The bigger the difference you can establish between yourself and the your failed predecessors.. the better.
