JT was right when he said "Canada is back" lol

It's getting there, TM........it is getting there. I can't help but wonder if buttsy's head has exploded yet - kind of makes his appearance before the Justice Committee even more interesting. There is no way he can spin this announcement into good news. Not a hope in hell. Really looking forward to Power Play today.

What amazes me is that people here still think that the Liberals and the Conservatives represent the people. They are both so far up the ruling elite's ass they don't represent the people at all. Vote in the conservatives and we will all be just as fukked as we are under the liberals. Wake up people. The system is stacked against us all. We need to get rid of the party system. The only way to have true representation of the people is if every politician runs as an independent.
Who are the ruling elite? Give names and addresses.

This is simply a legal opinion.
Nothing more.
If Ms Raybould could not see her way to doing it she could easily have stepped aside and allowed Trudeau to replace her with someone who would do it for him.
She chose a different route.
Did you not read the Criminal Code when posted?

jane Philpott resigns

I initially didn't think it would be the case, but I'm starting to think Trudeau won't make it to October. If he loses any more cabinet ministers over this scandal, I think he may be done.

They haven't even really dug into the Norman case yet, headlines from that scandal should be breaking right around election time.

Good frickin' grief - watching the little potato hold a pep rally in TO. He was over an hour late getting to the party and then entered the hall hooting and hollering glad-handing his hand-picked sycophants. Speaking of the groupies they are greeting his pronouncements with yells of 'trudeau, trudeau, trudeau. His bodyguards have already hauled away one protestor and had to quiet down another. He's copied Obama's style of talking about people by name using them as examples of why his policies are important. Of course, he is also calling forth his favorite boogeyman Stephen Harper. He hasn't lowered his voice since he hit the stage and is sounding rather hoarse now.

Oh and he did mention that he is sorry that Ms Philpott has resigned but you know, people have differences of opinion and BTW yeah she did a good job.

Personally if this is the tone he's going to take in future press conferences I think I'll take a pass and if by some slim chance he actually has something of interest to say, I can read about it later.

Craig Oliver says the whole event was surreal and had nothing to do with the importance of what happened today.

I found this video interesting:

I might not agree with all of it, but it certainly gives food for thought. How can the government mobilize a cadre to write favourable op eds?

I can see you bring the same scrupulous attention facts to being a crown attorney that you bring to being a google climatologist.

Are you a Lawyer or Climatologist? An Internet Lawyer or Internet Climatologist?

I've never claimed to be a Lawyer or a Climatologist, but I do try to educate myself instead of being lead by the nose blindly when I'm not busy in the real world living my life and earning a living. I do have a sense of ethics and know when something feels right or wrong, and when my own bullshit detector is going off....and sometimes things just stand out as being ethicly wrong or at least curious in their wording.

Existential? Existential threat of climate change? Is Jane Philpott also an Internet Climatologist?

It was especially gratifying to see Mr McKay brought in as a pundit.

I thought he was going to call Raybould and Philipott dogs, but he thought better of it.

If any and all of the MPs and Senators had any integrity, they would all bail out of Ottawa. The whole parliamentary establishment is corrupt and needs to be redesigned, a real constitution, ratified by the people, put in place and the party system and lobbying abolished along with corporate and billionaire contributions.

Trudeau 'welcomes' ethics probe of alleged PMO interference in SNC-Lavalin case

He will be completely exonerated because the Prime Minister's Office has already published the outcome of the inquiry and told the investigators what their findings are going to be.

I believe that's why the request has been make to have the RCMP investigate this.

Maybe, he'll fire the head Mountie, the way that Ford just fired his most senior OPP officer and that Trump wants to fire his FBI Director?

Democracy is in peril.

Key Canadian minister second to resign in major blow to Trudeau

In a serious blow to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a second member of his Cabinet resigned on Monday, saying she had lost confidence in how the government had dealt with an escalating political scandal.

ADVERTISING
The departure of recently appointed Treasury Board President Jane Philpott, who was in overall charge of government spending, deprives Trudeau of another powerful female Cabinet minister just months ahead of an election that polls show he could lose.

Philpott expressed unhappiness about the government's response to allegations that officials inappropriately pressured former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould last year to help major construction company SNC-Lavalin Group Inc avoid a corruption trial.

Damn trump haters are dropping like acid...I guess that is to be expected when one is in a "BUSTED for being totally criminal" fakenews party.

Hi ya Yorgie. LOL, your trumphating and democracy hating base are now belong to us, it looks like.

(from the above):
It grieves me to resign from a portfolio where I was at work to deliver an important mandate. I must abide by my core values, my ethical responsibilities, constitutional obligations. There can be a cost to acting on one’s principles, but there is a bigger cost to abandoning them.

Looks like they won't need to fire anyone...all the honest people will likely just quit and leave all you criminals holding your bags....
