Good for them. Hopefully that means an end to Northern Gateway and Kinder Morgan. We don't need oil gumming up our water ways and oceans. BCers are resourceful people. We have always found a way to make a living in spite of over logging and the demise of the forest industry and mining. We don't need those greedy bastards.

Ain't gonna happen. All of your widest fears will come true.

She's splitting the difference on that one Cliffy, she has come out in support of the Kinder Morgan expansion and the pipeline to the east, but against Northern Gateway and Keystone XL.

The Dippers have already expressed their interest in 'reaching out' and 'working with' the E&P sector. The message here is that it sounds like she's setting things up for a situation where there will be little or no change.

On the p/l front; it doesn't matter in any way what she thinks of Northern Gateway and especially KXL... They are Federal issues

Ms. Notely has expressed some dislike for exporting bitumen, saying that further refining at home would lead to economic diversification and more jobs at home. She may be in for a fight on that one as big oil has already decided that their bottom line is better with bitumen. Case in point: cancellation of Suncor's Voyageur Upgrader after 3.5 billion spent. They sold off the parts they could and bulldozed the rest last fall.

Upgrading is needed for conventional heavy oil too. Refining is needed to ship heavy oil. Pipelines carry multiple refined products and crude at the same time. Any idea why?

There would/will be massive opposition from the NIMBYs in terms of getting approvals for a major refinery.

On that note, there is still unused upgrading capacity available in Sask

And brand spanking new refining capacity. Just finished on Friday with rebuilding the old come fall.

Good. Then Petros can choke in that putrid crap from the tar sands.

We handle heavy conventional. If you don't understand the process STFU already.

Tarsands are the result of the glorious bounty offered-up from Mother Gaia herself.... It's her gift to humanity

And brand spanking new refining capacity. Just finished on Friday with rebuilding the old come fall.

... All the more reason to invest and spend in Sask as far as I'm concerned.

ON needs to stop importing Orinoco tar sands. If Cliff knew what they are he'd be far more worried about the Orinoco and insist they operate like Canada does.
