Though I'm not sure it'll happen, there's a thought going around now that Pelosi won't send to the Senate right away, instead she'll sit on the articles and do more fact finding.

I'm torn on whether this is a good idea or not.

On the one hand we know the Senate as it stands won't do jack shyte really and they're not even going to pretend to care about the Constitution or their Oaths (or their Religion for that matter) since they're saying already it won't be a long trial and they plan to call no witnesses.

On the other hand, trying to get more facts to prove Trump did indeed do the two articles he is impeached on before going to the Senate might just be a good idea, if only to throw as much at them as possible and thus as much evidence to the US public, so when the Senate acquits, the public knows that the Senate is total bunk and they can all be voted out next election.

I don't see it happening though. Pelosi won't hold back despite knowing going to the Senate is futile. The only hope there is after the bullshyte trial is that the Dems then take what happens to the campaign trail and show the public the truth, that the Republicans don't give a shyte at all about the US, only themselves and if the party won't change, then they shouldn't be allowed back into office until they return to the party of the US again.

“I didn't know this, but this is good. The Constitution does not allow a pardon for someone who has been impeached.

Got that?

So if Trump wants to be eligible for a pardon he has to resign BEFORE the House votes on Articles of Impeachment. Once he is impeached by the entire House of Representatives, he is literally unpardonable.

The House doesn't have to send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate — and in fact, the House should vote not to send the Articles until the Senate delivers a plan for a fair trial.

This would put Trump in the worst possible position. Impeachment hanging over his head, but no chance of acquittal.

But wait! There's more!

The House can continue its investigation into other high crimes and misdemeanors all next year, delivering new Articles of Impeachment on all the other crimes it uncovers.

The House wouldn't have to send any of these to the Senate until they were assured of a fair hearing of the evidence.

Or ... they could wait until October and send them one after the other into the Senate. That would interfere with everyone's election campaigns, wouldn't it?

There are so many wonderful ways that the Democrats could make life as miserable for Trump as he has done for so many Americans.

I'm not going to make any predictions, but several things are notable about this situation.

1) Trump no longer controls the narrative.

2) The narrative is no longer if, but when and how.

3) The Republicans have painted themselves into a corner.”

Would be nice if Bones could verify this.

Well, I can't feel too sorry for Donald. It didn't take a huge brain to see the Dems were out to get him right from the get go. If he'd have started "cooling it" about 6 months ago he probably wouldn't be in the predicament he is today. He'll likely recover or he won't!

Remember this & remember it well...every job no matter how mundane require a certain degree of ethical values & an eagerness to learn & enhance ones job skills. In the real world anyone who cannot meet these requirements is denied the job or is fired. As a T.V. personality Trump was overly eager to shout your fired with great glee. This should & indeed must hold true for the job of the presidency. Impeachment is the manner in which a president in grave remiss is fired. Trump has been in very serious & grave remiss of the requirements of the job requirements of the presidential seat from day one in office & continues to defy constitutional rules & guidelines. Those who tolerate hypocrisy, bigotry, hatred or racism perpetuate it. Trump does all of these freely on a daily basis while in the seat of the presidency. If we do not support impeachment of Trump we also help perpetuate the same criminal behavior he does. Mitch McConnel & Linsay Graham took the same oath as Trump did & place themselves in serious remiss in their rabid defense of this national traitor. The question is who & what will we support...this is a test of hypocrisy & bigotry!

A person with YOUR flaws should not be expounding on impeaching anybody. Clean up your own "back yard".
Hoid is one of those people who thinks lying about someone makes what they said true.
;)

LOL, I mean having a nose you can use as a hat rack! Say...what's in your wallet?

(from the commie nevernews nutwerk: )

What happens next: The vote shifts the impeachment proceedings to the Senate, where a trial is expected in January.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told Republican senators at a policy lunch Tuesday that he will announce by the end of the week the date for the start of the Senate trial, according to sources.

The Senate will decide whether to convict Trump (OR NOT!) and remove him from office.

Well, Cliffy, I guess the electorate now has their "pound of flesh". Apart from that, I'm not sure who it's served! Is it going to encourage the recipient to do better? Looks to me a judicial sentence has been passed as the result of a political procedure. I wonder if it's put the Democrats in a favourable light? Are we now going to see "the other shoe to drop"?

Well it would be a good thing for the democrats to politic on the impeachment issue .
Hey send me back to Washington , I have done a great job as your representative, we have spent the last 3 1/2 years investigating Trump on made up charges of Russian collusion , changing to Ukrainian Quid Pro Quo , and when that fell flat we impeached him on made up charges . We didn’t pass any legislation of meaning in that time , but hey send me back as your representative so I can continue to work on your behalf .
