#1 - You have just spammed the same thread twice. One is all that is required.

#2 - Nobody has called this a sport, except yourself in this thread. This is the first time I heard anybody refer to it as a Sport.

#3 - It is a Hunt, not a sport.

#4 - Seals Don't Talk.

#5 - NOBODY IN CANADA OR ANYWHERE ELSE ON THIS DAMN PLANET IS PERMITTED TO HUNT PUPS, WHICH SEEMS TO MAKE UP 90% OF YOUR INFORMATION ABOVE.

So how about you get your information right next time, show some updated photos and information from recent hunts and how they are conducted, not from the 70's/80's, and if you're gonna try and propaganda the forums like this.... get your ass straight and do it right... you look like a fool.

This is just ignorant in so many ways.

Thank you Praxius...DEAD ON.

THERE IS NO HUNT FOR SEAL PUPS!

The fact the animal rights groups constantly use this approach proves they are liars and con artists, interested only in dollars donated by the stupid.

The Sea Shepherd Society makes millions more than the seal hunters do. This protest group is big money. A number I've heard is is 50 million annually.

Here is their web site: http://www.seashepherd.org/donate.html Pay particular attention to the box, "join and donate".

My understanding is that without the seal hunt their population would explode. This would lead them to mass starvation and misery for those that survived as they would have less then they need to eat.

I think this hunt seems cruel only because seals are cute. I'm not sure what a smallpox virus looks like up close but I'm sure it's cute too. Perhaps one of the eco-Nazis would volunteer to help it survive?

Besides, think of all the cute fish that the seal hunt saves. One seal kills a lot more cute fish over time than fish kill seals.

Remember that Simpson's Episode:

Burns' song in 2F18: Some men hunt for sport, others hunt for food. Thee only thing I'm hunting for is an outfit that looks good. See my vest, see my vest, made from real Gorilla chest. See this sweater, there's no better than authentic Irish Setter. See this hat, 'twas my cat. My evening wear, vampire bat. These white slippers are Albino African endangered Rhino. Grizzly bear underwear. Turtle necks, I've got my share. Breed of Poodle on my noodle It shall rest. Try my red Robin suit, it comes one breast or two. See my vest, see my vest, see my vest. Like my loafers, former gophers. It was that, or skin my chauffeurs. But a greyhound fur tuxedo would be best, so let's prepare these dogs {???? for matching ???} See my vest, see my vest, Oh please won't you see my vest. I really like the vest.

Nice try, they don't eat the meat do they?
Cosmetics only, same as buffalo was at one time, hides only. Beaver, etc.

Newfoundlanders eat seal. I have eaten seal in Newfoundland. Cod? --By 1972 the codfish had been reduced in size and number to the point where fish plants, at Catalina were working on day a week or closed. Fishing out of Bonavista using cod traps produced cathches which didn't cover the cost of the fuel for their small inshore boats. I never heard a Newfoundlander talk about seals eating all the cod just that large foreign trawlers accompanied by Factory ships were raping the sea. Please note --NOW we are working to extinct the Pollok. Have you noted that fish are are now farmed--the wild ones are becoming a specialty.

As already explained a few times above if you read.... they do. And people eat Buffalo meat still today... in fact I had a few Buffalo burgers a couple of weeks ago.... pretty tasty.

What about the millions and millions of mosquitos killed every summer. Our arms and necks have become killing fields for those poor buggers. The slaughter each year is horrendous. They have to eat too. But noooooo...we slap, use chemical weapons, contaminate their food supply with "Deep Woods Off", and torture them with electrocution (bug lights).

Ah but nobody has yet to prove that the mosquito suffers any when they enter a bug light :p

Haha, mosquitoes. That's one of my favorite arguments too. Except I prefer to use the tapeworm example. You won't die if you get a tapeworm, you are only killing it for 'cosmetic' reasons: evil!

I pretty much hate PETA. Mostly because of the insidious way they try to push their agenda. Their mission to stop animal testing and fur usage is meaningless if they also don't want everyone to be a vegetarian, but it is easier to take baby steps and lie about their real ideals.

I believe hunting deer, moose etc is classed as a sport....so one assumes then that a seal hunt is also classed as a sport

You know what they say about assuming....

Honestly, until people stop making this argument based on emotions and use some facts, I won't find myself on their side. Their basic argument seems to boil down to seals are special because they're cute. I don't see why it's ok to slaughter cows, chicken, pigs and fish but not seal. Even the veterinary association came out years ago saying their deaths are instant and not cruel. If it isn't causing unecessary suffering, I don't see the problem.

Hell , I gotta get back to my extreme violence video game ....muhaaaaaaaa.

Here's one to use on your tree hugging, vegan friends....

You open with the line "So these two baby seals walk into a club...."

Then you leave them hanging. First they look at you like you're not quite with it. Then they realize, oh, it's the opening line to a sick joke. They don't know whether to laugh or go into a fit of rage.

LMAO. Oh that was great...if only Americans would know what a seal hunt was it would work great.

Well...it's gotta hurt a little. I mean if you miss or don't come down hard enough. Like getting hit in the head with a baseball bat. But anyways. Why can't they put a small .22 caliber slug in the brain
