holy shit. If you are considered far right there has been a massive polar shift in the definitions of right and left. I consider most of us to be somewhere in the middle, mostly fiscal conservatives but fairly liberal or libertarian about social issues that don't include massive infusions of tax dollars.
Walmart is maybe right wing. Christian conservative anyway.
I honestly don't know because the investigation is still ongoing.
From what I have heard though, this guy stockpiled weapons all over the place, and drugs as well, allegedly. But I don't know how he got said guns - legal or otherwise - so again, dunno.
Also, not a ban on all weapons in Canada, but nice try.

Specifically if you scroll down to Regulatory Development, the first paragraph is "Consultation" and this is the first sentence:
Extensive public engagement on the issue of banning handguns and assault-style firearms, led by the then Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction, took place between October 2018 and February 2019 with the provinces and territories, municipalities, Indigenous groups, law enforcement, community organizations, and industry.
.... So... take from that what you will then.
