So yes, I looked at the link, read it repeatedly, and looked deeper, because banning guns for target shooting a la Olympics would have fallen into that "make it clearer" category that I said the ban had to... make clearer?
Spent about 45 minutes looking for specifics. Found nada.
I did find that, in a general sense, that it is likely those guns used in target Olympic sports could be seen as banned under these new rules.
But then I also learned there are exemptions in the law that allow for such guns to be owned and transported even.
So... I'd have to throw out there that this opinion piece - which it is - is currently incorrect.

I will ETA: it IS hard to find directly the answer to that question of exceptions and I still believe that it needs to be clearer to the layman of what guns are okay and what aren't, and what is iffy because there's gonna be iffy.
But then that's me, I like a KISS model for stuff like this.
