I honestly don't know where all of this talk of separation is coming from here. I proposed a
unified voice. That's it. I didn't realize just how threatened people would be by that thought.
That alone is a bit of an eye opener that I didn't realize existed. Interesting all by itself. Queer.

You do realise that The Western Block party does existed and is an offical party.

FYI....The whole time I was arguing for a Party of
Western Provinces for Trade & Voting purposes, with
a mandate against seperation, set up in such a way
that it would never even have a sitting Prime Minister,
and was calling it the "Western BlocK Party," I really
didn't realize there was a party by that name already
with a seperist mandate. Ops....I had no idea!!! 8O
OK...same everything as before, but instead lets call
it the "Voice of the West" Party. :lol::lol::lol:

Again, I had no idea beyond the ideas we came up with over
coffee at work one morning, which I'd outlined.

We have the EU and Euro and with your divided help we will have an NAU and an Amero sooner---each state province may now become its own little country ?--and we will all be Americans--they can call us Amies---direction on many boxes are already in English,French and Spanish.
Ya Man I did--My point is that splitting up with more regional parties and varied interests --- Western block, Bock Quebec, Ontario is a good move toward North American Unity. Sort of like divide and conquer--only you are dividing Canada for them
We have too many parties now, the last thing we need is another party, all we need is for one of the ones we already have to smarten up- finding an ethical politician anywhere is like finding a virgin in a ***** house.
Ironic, but it's the only career I know where corruption and incompetence doesn't deter longevity.
I'm not sure that it's fools that reelect them- sometimes it's members of the electorate who are as crooked as they are and know the best way to get a favour is by approaching someone with no scruples. Just watched a program on C.B.C. about the recent liquidation of the banks in the U.S. To put it bluntly SH*T rises to the top.
This crisis doesn't exist. It's nothing more than one big raping of the populus. Not one CEO has been fired for losing the corporate shirt so to speak. Why is that?
I don't know Ron.... You think parliament is dis-functional now? Just wait until you have a Western Block, a Quebec Bloc, Ontario and the maritimes split between NDP, Libs and Cons....
Really, you nailed the problem in your first post - Harper gets in - and dumps the West in order to get his "majority." Then the West, to show their disgust and unhappiness with this vote him back in. (?) Yeah, I know the Liberals, blah, blah, blah... but as long we continue to vote these jack-behinds back in, without ever holding them accountable, they will continue to treat us like the lemmings we are.
The issues as I see them are - How do we create a more equal federation between the provinces, while also ensuring that the basic principle of democracy (rep. by. pop.) is respected. IMHO - we need to re-jig the HoC to give true, complete Rep. by Pop. - AND rejig the Senate to give Rep. by Prov. (each Province gets the same # of senators), and make the Senate answerable to the Provinces.
How to do that? Now THAT is the question.
