President Donald Trump may have leaked his own 2005 tax return, according to the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter David Cay Johnston.

Johnston said he obtained the document by mail. He subsequently shared those findings exclusively with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Tuesday.

"By the way, let me point out that it's entirely possible that Donald Trump sent this to me. Donald Trump has, over the years, leaked all sorts of things," said Johnston, founder of DCReport.org. Johnston won his Pulitzer in 2001 for his stories on the inequality of the tax code while he was with The New York Times.

The second page of the documents obtained by Johnston are stamped "Client Copy," leading to speculation on Twitter that they may be Trump's own copy.

Trump stands by wiretap claim as lawmakers voice doubt



Leaders of the House Intelligence Committee cast fresh doubt on President Trump's claim that then-President Obama illegally wiretapped Trump Tower, granting the Justice Department an extension to provide any evidence. Are lawmakers getting adequate cooperation from the intelligence community? Judy Woodruff speaks with Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., about the Russia investigation and more.


JUDY WOODRUFF: Russia’s role in last year’s election, alleged contacts between the Trump team and Moscow, and President Trump’s allegation that he was wiretapped by his predecessor, all these were front and center on Capitol Hill today.

John Yang reports.

REP. DEVIN NUNES, R-Calif.: I don’t think that there was an actual tap of Trump Tower.

JOHN YANG: Leaders of the House Intelligence Committee cast fresh doubt today on President Trump’s claim that then-President Obama illegally wiretapped Trump Tower.

Committee Chairman Devin Nunes:

REP. DEVIN NUNES: President Obama wouldn’t physically go over and wiretap Trump Tower.

So now you have to decide, as I mentioned to last week, are you going to take the tweets literally? And if you are, then clearly the president was wrong.

But if you’re not going to take the tweets literally, and if there’s a concern that the president has about other people, other surveillance activities looking at him or his associates, either appropriately or inappropriately, we want to find that out.

JOHN YANG: The committee gave the Justice Department until last night to produce any evidence to support the president’s claim. Instead, the department got an extension until next Monday, when FBI Director James Comey is to testify before the panel.

Adam Schiff is the committee’s top Democrat.

REP. ADAM SCHIFF, D-Calif.: I do think it’s incumbent that, if we get to March 20 and we have the testimony I think we all expect from the director that there was no substance to the accusation that Barack Obama illegally wiretapped Trump Tower, that the president explain himself.

no back up was sent along with the client copy. No information on where he made this money, only what income tax he paid...

He probably did the easiest and most convenient thing he could do to satisfy the biggest number of questions. (I would) I'd guess most of the people raising the issue were interested in two things..............how much money he earned and how much tax he paid. I would bet the how, when and where were irrelevant in their minds.

Justin Trudeau Warns Trump About NAFTA Plan, Says Deal Is Good for U.S. Jobs

Donald Trump's plan to tear up NAFTA could hit U.S. jobs, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned in an exclusive interview with NBC News.

The president has begun moves to renegotiate what he called the "worst trade deal ever approved in this country." However, Trudeau said the Clinton-era agreement had "led to a lot of great jobs for a whole lot of people on both sides of the border."

Trudeau spoke to NBC News' Tom Brokaw at the New York launch of "Come From Away," a Broadway musical about international friendships and the cross-border impact of 9/11.

It tells the story of the 38 international flights forced to land in Gander, Newfoundland, when U.S. airspace was closed following the attacks by al Qaeda in 2001.

Ivanka Trump and Nikki Haley, the new U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, were among the guests at Wednesday night's event.

Brokaw's interview with Trudeau will air on TODAY on Thursday morning.

Trudeau said his message to the new administration was that "good jobs, middle class, happen on both sides of the border because of the close relationship" between the neighbors.

"NAFTA's been ... improved a dozen times over the past 20 years," Trudeau said. "There's always opportunities to talk about how we can make it better. It has led to a lot of great jobs for a whole lot of people on both sides of the border and I very much take him at his word when he talks about just making a few tweaks. Because that's what we're always happy to do."

Trudeau added: "We've got auto parts criss-crossing the border six times before they end up in a finished product. You've got over $2 billion a day going back and forth. So, making sure that the border is … secure but also smooth in its flow of goods and people is essential to good jobs on both sides of the border."

There's one major problem with trying to get information by looking at someone's income tax...................if there is one unknown then you don't know anything! :)

McDonald's Tweet Blasts President Trump, And Is Quickly Deleted

A tweet from McDonald's corporate account attacked President Trump Thursday; it was deleted within 30 minutes.

A post on McDonald's corporate Twitter account caused a stir Thursday morning, denigrating President Trump and calling for Barack Obama's return. The tweet was only up for around 20 minutes — but in that time, it was liked and retweeted more than a thousand times.

"You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back," said the tweet that was briefly pinned to the top of the McDonald's page. It concluded, "also you have tiny hands."

An early message to McDonald's seeking comment wasn't immediately answered; more than an hour after the incident, the company said that its Twitter account "was compromised."

not to mention that if you're not real familiar with that states particulars on income tax...

the 'leak' was most likely donald himself.
