good fukkin' riddance.

Katie Rich, a writer for “Saturday Night Live,” has been suspended from her position at that show following a widely criticized post she made Friday on her personal Twitter account in which she mocked Barron Trump, the 10-year-old son of President Donald J. Trump.

She was suspended immediately after her tweet, and her suspension is indefinite, according to someone familiar with the plans at “S.N.L.,” who was not authorized by NBC to comment on personnel matters.

That tweet on Friday, during Mr. Trump’s inauguration ceremony, drew widespread condemnation, and Ms. Rich subsequently deleted the post and deactivated her Twitter account. Her name did not appear in the closing credits of “Saturday Night Live” in its broadcast on Saturday.

On Monday afternoon, Ms. Rich reactivated her account and posted a message that said: “I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet.

I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry.”

The suspension of Ms. Rich, who was hired to join “S.N.L.” at the end of 2013, comes at a delicate time for the program, when it has felt emboldened to lampoon Mr. Trump but has faced his swift retaliation on Twitter.

Following the show’s broadcast of Jan. 14, in which the actor Alec Baldwin played Mr. Trump in a parody of his news conference from earlier that week, Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter the following day:

“NBC News is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!”

Mr. Trump made no public comments about Saturday’s show, in which Mr. Baldwin did not appear. NBC said on Monday that Mr. Baldwin will host “Saturday Night Live” on Feb. 11 and appear throughout that program.

The fact that writers and other people are willing to attack Barron Trump, a ten year-old, just shows how much we really needed change.

SNL Writer Deletes Tweet Saying Barron Trump Will be America’s ‘First Homeschool Shooter’

A writer for Saturday Night Live broke the usual rule about not targeting the children of politicians we disagree with.

For approximately three hours today, SNL “Weekend Update” writer Katie Rich had a tweet up saying that President Trump‘s 10 year old son, Barron, was going to grow up to become America’s “first homeschool shooter.”

Rich eventually deleted her tweet, though not before Twitter users took notice:

For the record, Barron Trump is not homeschooled, and there are plans for him and Melania Trump to live in the president’s New York penthouse until he finishes the year at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School.

DJ Taylor: The parallels are impossible to deny

It is just possible to feel a shred of sympathy with Kellyanne Conway. Stung by incontrovertible evidence that more people were keener on complaining about her boss than supporting him, took refuge in a form of words that would have been hilarious were they not at the same time horribly sinister. But it would be wrong to judge her too harshly for her defence of Sean Spicer’s “alternative facts”. She is a PR, operating in a world where all values are expedient.

It’s useless to pretend that this isn’t all sharply reminiscent of the world of Nineteen Eighty-Four (by coincidence, Orwell died 67 years ago to the day that the anti-Trumpites marched on Washington). Winston Smith, sitting in his cubby-hole at the Ministry of Truth falsifying back-numbers of the Times in accordance with the latest revisionist diktats from on high, deals in “alternative facts”, or rather with deliberate untruths that eventually become facts merely because the former versions of them are no longer around to disturb.

Shouldn't this agent be stripped of her post and shown the door? She has a sworn duty to protect POTUS and if she can't handle that she should have immediately resigned. The Secret Service has no option but to dismiss her from the service after the comments she made on social media. Publicly stating you won't take a bullet for the Pres is a career killer in her line of work.

National Park Service launches unofficial Twitter account that Donald Trump can’t touch

In his first days in office, Donald Trump has made a point of censoring and restricting what the National Park Service can and cannot say on its various official Twitter accounts. After the NPS tweeted photos of Trump’s small inauguration crowd, he temporarily suspended its Twitter privileges. And when the Badlands tweeted about climate change today, those tweets were then deleted. But now some unnamed individuals within the National Park Service have created an unofficial Twitter account that Trump can’t touch.
Trump doesn’t have the ability to shut down a Twitter account, or to suspend it from being usable; only Twitter the company would be able to do that. Instead he’s been sabotaging the National Park Service Twitter accounts by presumably threatening to fire people if they dare to tweet things he doesn’t like, or if they tweet during times when he’s put them in the penalty box. But he can only do that if he knows who’s tweeting.
When it comes to official Park Service accounts like @NatlParkService or @BadlandsNPS, specific employees have access to those accounts, so it’s easy for Trump to know who’s posting any tweets he doesn’t like — and whom to punish. So instead, Park Service employees whose identities are unknown have created an unofficial Twitter account at @AltNatParkSer.
The unofficial National Park Service account started six hours ago by reposting the Badlands tweets that had been deleted. It’s since continued posting all the climate change data it can find, and it’s been documenting Trump’s strange attempts at cracking down on the official accounts. This unofficial Twitter account has quickly gained ninety thousand followers (likely a lot more by the time you’re reading this), as Americans are flocking to the account to keep up with the real National Park Service news.

Putting their jobs on the line for what they believe in, eh Cliffy. Down the road, as they shuffle along the unemployment line, I wonder if they will look back at this brave decision and still figure it was worth the gamble.

Obama is gone and the Trumpster as Narcissist-in-Chief is at the helm. What we have seen so far is Orwellian to the Max. It is like the ruling elite are tired of the charade and are just going all out. They don't care if they are obvious because the majority of the sheeple have been brainwashed enough that it doesn't matter because those who are awake are insignificant in numbers that they are no longer a threat to the rulers. I think they underestimate what they are up against.

Both Bush and Obama are gone, Cliffy. Both were also accused of Orwellian tactics - but you know what the sun still rose and people still went on with their lives. Whether this new administration proves to be even more Orwellian then that of previous ones will be born out in the days to come. It is not unusual for incoming administrations to clean house when coming into office. All of them do it to one extent or another.

If they start shutting down news media, I'll begin taking note - until then banning twitter accounts for National Park services is small potatoes and hardly worth getting all bothered about.

What the heck is it with the font in this topic?

Orwellian is techno globalism
DUH!!!
which is Cliffy's soros ( hitler's jew burner - look it up, I've posted the proof enough times )funded team

...the opposite of Trump's nationalism

"Orwellian" is an adjective describing a situation, idea, or societal condition that George Orwell identified as being destructive to the welfare of a free and open society.

It denotes an attitude and a brutal policy of draconian control by propaganda, surveillance, misinformation, denial of truth, and manipulation of the past, including the "unperson"—a person whose past existence is expunged from the public record and memory, practised by modern repressive governments.

Often, this includes the circumstances depicted in his novels, particularly Nineteen Eighty-Four[2] but political double-speak is criticized throughout his work, such as in Politics and the English Language.[3]
Nineteen Eighty-Four uses themes from life in the Soviet Union and wartime life in Great Britain as sources for many of its motifs.[4][5]

You're tormenting yourself, Cliffy. He's President and will be for 4-8 years, life's too short to tear your hair out.
