We all remember the Senator/Vice President/Oscar Winner/Nobel Prize Winner Al Gore.

If anyone is deserving of the title KING OF HYPOCRITES, it is this phony a$$hole.

Living in several 20,000 sq ft mansions, flying private jets, using more energy than Heaven knows how many decent hard-working citizens, and claiming that his carbon foot print (now here is THE crowning achievement of liberal idiocy) is smaller than yours or mine because he invests in his own company to plant trees.

If any jackass (and you know who you are) ever comes and claims that conservatives are hypocrites, proves that their view of reality or their idea of honesty is greatly flawed.

There are those who claim that verbal indiscretions are worse that actual acts of dishonesty and claim that only Republicans/conservatives are hypocrites and in addition, claim that hypocrisy is always sex-related, are stranely quiet regarding the post about Al Gore.

They must be thinking of any and all (mostly invalid and typically dishonest) ways to white wash the true HYPOCRITE that Al Gore is.

Nobody is quiet regarding A Gore, YJ. Gore is respected universally for his work in promoting global warming awareness (he got the Nobel Prize for that, much to the disgust of right wing extremists)).

And we have discussed this before. it is nonsense to compare his carbon footprint with yours and mine, and then claim it is too high. How does his carbon footprint compare with others with similar income? Is it higher than them or lower than them? Unless you have that information, it is nonsense to talk about his carbon footprints.

Thus my carbon footprint is going to be much larger than that of an impoverished man living in the third world, with no access to running water, no electricity, no mode of transport except walking. That means nothing, my footprint must be compared with those who have similar income as me.

The same applies to Gore. How does his carbon footprint compare with that of Rush Limbaugh, Bill Bennett, George Bush? Unless you have this information available (and you don't), it is nonsense to chatter endlessly about Gore's footprint.

You have not validated the claim of hypocrisy with any solid evidence.

Actually it has been proven many times that Gore's carbon footprint is far larger than Bush's. That doesn't even take into consideration Gore's Zinc mining operations he allows on his land.

Put up some weblinks for this, EagleSmack. I am not going to take your word for it.

So...the rich get a walk on this Carbon Footprint thing? The Super-Rich
get an even bigger excuse? Cool. Good to know. With that standard in
effect, it doesn't matter what Al Gore's or George Bush's Carbon
Footprints are then. Both of them are only eating Kraft Dinner
by choice & not need, so they don't count then.

Rich do not get a walk, Ron. But carbon footprint is usually related to the income. Higher the income, higher the footprint.

I am sure your footprint would be greater than some impoverished man in Somalia or Sudan, who has no running water, no electricity, no mode of transport except walking. Now, no matter how hard you try, your footprint will always remain much greater than his. Should you then be condemned as a terrible polluter?

Rich have much more money to spend that middle classes or poor and of necessity they are going to have greater carbon footprint. I can’t think of any rich person who earns say, 10 million $ per year and still lives as if he earns 40,000 $ per year. That just is not going to happen. Somebody who is earning 10 million a year is always going to have a greater footprint than somebody earning 40,000 per year.

A man is always compared with his peers to judge his behavior. Comparing somebody who earns 10 million $ with somebody who earns 40,000 $ doesn’t make sense.

I think the environment that someone lives in might be a more legitimate
excuse for a larger Carbon Footprint than someone's income. Winter in
Somalia or the Sudan might be a tad milder than the Canadian Prairies.

Al Gore: The Other Oil Candidate
Nowhere is Al Gore's environmental hypocrisy more glaring than when it comes to his relationship with Occidental. While on the one hand talking tough about his "big oil" opponents and waxing poetic about indigenous peoples in his 1992 book "Earth in the Balance," the Elk Hills sale and other deals show that money has always been more important to Al Gore than ideals.
CorpWatch*:*Al Gore: The Other Oil Candidate

CARTHAGE, Tenn. - Al Gore has profited from zinc mining that has released millions of pounds of potentially toxic substances near his farmstead, but there is no evidence the mine has caused serious damage to the environment in the area or threatened the health of his neighbors.

But now that the mine is reopening and Gore?s status as an environmentalist has grown, some of Gore?s neighbors see a conflict between the mining and his moral call for environmental activism.
?Mining is not exactly synonymous with being green, is it?? said John Mullins, who lives in nearby Cookeville. A conservative, Mullins welcomes the resumption of mining for the benefits it will bring the community. But he says Gore?s view that global warming is a certainty is arrogant and that by being connected to mining, Gore is not ?walking the walk.?

George Bush went to war. Add that to his carbon foot print. Jet fuel is 80% of the Air Force's $7 Billion a year energy bill.

Man/Women have been leaving carbon footprints since their inception. You breath, I breath and our great, great and so on grandkids will continue to breath. Unless something catastrophic changes the atmosphere life will go on. Short of nuclear warm we cannot kill this planet, it has an amazing ability to repair itself. Please don't misunderstand me, I was not blaming Al Gore for anything, just pointing out that he is not without fault. I am not convinced that man is primarily at fault for what is happening.

What SirJosephPorter seems to be unable to comprehend that regardless of wealth, it is HYPOCRITICAL for one to lecture the world about something that one does not practice himself.

Al Gore is the perfect example of that. You know: HYPOCRISY!

Humans are hypocrits. We all want clean air and a pristine wilderness to watch on Discovery, but we are not willing to give up all the crap that causes all the environmental destruction. Our life style is toxic and unsustainable. How many on here have large flat screen TVs, more than one vehicle, a house bigger than 1000 square feet and more than 5 electric appliances?

So let me get this straight. You're saying that proving that some liberals are hypocrites is proving that there are no conservative hypocrites? i'll remember that if I'm ever charged with a crime. Instead of trying to prove my innocence, I'll try to prove someone else is guilty of some other crime and present that as proof of my innocence.

Hmmm....
