Thanx to those that had my back on this. I would have said 'six', but that would have been taken as an attempt to look Army.
And for the record, those that know me and know me well. Know that I've been more then willing to discuss my service. In private. I have a distinctive name. I post else where on the net, with open private information. I've been through two bought's of the internet interfering in my real life. Some members of this forum, including two Mods witnessed that first hand. If I so chose to put my entire service record out here. It would be far to easy to pin point me else where out here and accumulate enough info to piss me off in real life...No thanx, I'm not up to speed at the moment. It is as simple as that. That's not an opinion, that is a fact. If that isn't good enough for you, I just don't give a ****.
My presence in Golan Heights was a stop on an assigned detail, as were many other places in both Europe and the Middle East. It was my pleasure to meet IDF Officers, NCO's and Troopers. Not once was I made to feel out of place. Yes, they had sharp words for the UN, and rightly so. They also had issues with Soldiers from other Nations, saluting fallen terrorist leaders. But so do I and about a million other people. This does not make me an expert by any means. And it surely doesn't make them capable of indiscriminant murder. And I can understand why they felt the way they do. That's my opinion.
There are no facts in evidence anywhere, that the IDF targeted the UN compound. I don't need to know any Drop shorts, or have any back ground in military equipment, to prove that ordinance do not always land where it was intended too. That's simple stats and facts.
Israeli Troops train along side Canadian personnel in the US and in other places. Incident free. Military comradery is multi uniformed. That to is a simple fact.
The IDF is not the political wing of Israel. They are Soldiers first. As are most Soldiers.
Now, if Israel feels it's in its best interest to not comply with an investigation. It could be based on any number of reasons. They've already accepted responsibility. I don't need much more then that. But that's me.
I just finished defending the Canadian Gov't's position on not assisting with a Polish led investigation into the taser death in BC. I'm not about to do an about face just because I was upset about the person involved. I don't micro manage my ideologies.
