It is sending him a message... careful...people are angry and perhaps listening to the far left is not so smart.

JLM, neither was O.J. Simpson. But just as surely as O.J. plunged the knife, Tefd Kennedy let an innocent woman drown and die.
But this was acceptable for the Democrats for 46 years. After all they embrace a racist Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard Robert Byrd as their one of their own, even longer than Kennedy.
And they have the nerve to call Republicans racists.

It's not actually a big deal Y.J. For one thing, one year into a presidential term is probably the very best time for the President to drop to the lowest ebb on the popularity chart. Now if he was 31/2 years into his term you would have good reason to gloat Y.J.- but if I was you Y.J. I just watch what happens and keep my mouth shut. :lol::lol::lol:
It actually is a big deal. I am not so sure if you are up to speed with politics here is Massachusetts but we are LIBERAL. Some Canadians say that a liberal from the US is like a far right winger in Canada.
I say they have not visited Massachusetts. The last time we had a Republican Senator was 1972. Almost 40 years ago. It is a HUGE deal because if Massachusetts can go partially red...MASSACHUSETTS... every Democrat seat could be in jeopardy.
This Senate seat was occupied for 47 years by Ted Kennedy...now a Republican is sitting in it.
But don't let me convince you...watch the US News if you are interested. Lots of soul searching tomorrow.
Maybe this is a prime example of 'the Cult of Personality'. the people of Massachusetts love the Kennedys and loved Ted Kennedy. He was a Kennedy and he was a good Senator for them The replacement for one thing, didn't have the Kennedy charisma or the Senator's either. From what I've read, the replacement didn't have a connection with the electorate, and not only that, her people took it too much for granted that they would have the election in the bag.
Well, I did read part of the book called "The Last Brother", which pretty well told it how it was about the Kennedy family and it's not all flattering. I always sort of kept an open mind about Chappaquidick- they were all drinking and partying & boys will be boys BUT I had a hard time wrapping my mind around the incident, where the pilot was killed flying Kennedy back to Hyannisport, it was a long story but it did not put Kennedy in a good light. Actually I thought he acted criminally, but did pay for it with a broken leg.
I think you are right on all accounts. She..to be honest did not campaign much different than Kennedy. Kennedy didn't need to campaign. Heck he wouldn't even debate his opponents! Why should he bother. He flew home to Cape Cod to cast his vote and flew back to DC the next morning.
The only debate I remember was when he debated Mitt Romney when Romney got a little too close for comfort. In the end Teddy rolled.
Coakley thought the same thing was due to her.
When asked why she isn't out in the streets campaigning she said...
"What do you want me to do?! Stand outside Fenway Park and shake hands with people...in the cold?"

I've never read the book but will bug the local library for it. I've heard lots about him though ... used to work in the same company as a Republican guy who lived in Boston...he used to tell me he was a bit of an outcast at home when it came to politics. He shared your opinion of Kennedy, but he was more vocal about it...and the opinion came complete with an authentic "Bwah-stun" accent! :lol:

I've always said that the GOP deserved to get swept from office as they did nothing but run up the deficit. The GOP deserved to lose the Executive Office as Bush made a bit of a mess. Even conservatives breathed a little sigh of relief.
The Democrats are learning the hard way that you can't ram shyte down the people's throats.
They ignored the Town Meetings calling all the opposition paid thugs...they ignored the tea parties calling them racist hate mongers.
Well guess what... Massachusetts just got a little redder this evening.
