Yeah, that may be true. But maybe that's just how open I am in changing my position as the parties change theirs. With the right shift the NDP are moving into Liberal territory as the Liberals move into Conservative territory and the Conservatives move further right wing.

Take it from an old Reformer........Man, if you think the CPC has moved right.....you're cross-eyed!!! lol

Your OTHER Right..... :)

The political parties in Canada are jammed so close together on the political spectrum than many of their main policies overlap.......how else could the people move so smoothly through the spectrum? If you want to see unhealthy polarization, just look south........it ain't happening here, thankfully.

So what your telling me is that me and Steve might actually be able to count on you for support come election day? :)

You probably shouldn't bet the house on it.

Canadians aren't extremists... yet. We are on that road though. Should Harper get turfed this election, the divide will grow. Already there are kooks out slashing tires, signs and keying cars of people who put a Liberal sign on their lawn. Now it's moved to Members running for election. While these are obviously outsiders taking the whole damn thing too seriously, they are the canary in the mine.

Just look at the G8/G20 summit in TO to have a clear view of where Harper is leading this country. Can you say "police state"? The polarization is coming from the top down. Pretty soon, if not already, all citizens are considered criminals until proven otherwise by the Ministry of Truth.

I thought CBC was the Ministry of Truth. ;)

This just proves what I said that the truth is relative. The truth to a Conservative is different to a Liberal and different again to a commie pinko like me.

Not in this case, he made a statement that is completely untrue.

It's so funny watching people who tried to pretend to be 'free thinkers', with 'No Party Affiliation' in their avatars, remove all doubt, when there was no doubt all along.

I agree the G20 was mishandled. The violent protesters should have been sprayed, batoned, arrested, and thrown in jail.......and the peaceful ones left alone.....but I need to point out McGuinty and Miller are at LEAST partially responsible......

And,

Have you guys forgotten APEC???? When the PM's chief of staff was out personally directing the RCMP attacks on peaceful protests?

Or Chretien using the RCMP as his own personal gestapo in various vendettas?

Or the Mob in Cabinet?

It ain't black or white here, unfortunately......

Oh, and you need to read up on your Orwell.....

The Ministry of Truth was the news (read propaganda) service of the society of 1984.....by Orwell's own admission, based on the BBC where he worked. The CBC is based on.....the BBC :)

The legal institution, which tortured and disappeared undesirables, was the Ministry of Love.
