We learned in school many years ago that the water temp. at the bottom of the ocean is always 4C. (that's the temp. that water is densest)
That's not true. Is some areas it can be -1.

If that's the case the entire ocean is frozen. That's not true. Is some areas it can be -1.
If that's the case the entire ocean is frozen.
You might be on to something there.Water can't freeze down at those depths no matter how cold it gets because of the pressure.

It is also salt, so the freezing point is lower. Around here the water temperature is fairly constant at 60 ft. Much warmer than the surface in winter.Water can't freeze down at those depths no matter how cold it gets because of the pressure.

Not to mention the volume of the water is a helluva lot greater. That's why when it's cold enough to freeze puddles you rarely see the sea frozen.

Summers could last half the year by the end of this century
I don't see a downside.. longer crop growing season, more fun in the pool and BBQ's
Ha ha, like soft warm Bull Sh!t, 33.899 feet of water can only be piled so high.101.325 kilopascals
Why is it unchanged?
Why does one use salt to de-ice the steps and sidewalk? If that's the case the entire ocean is frozen.
Salt reduces the thawing temp. to 23F.Why does one use salt to de-ice the steps and sidewalk?
So what do you think salt does to water in the ocean'sSalt reduces the thawing temp. to 23F.
I know what it does...........................lowers the freezing temp. by 1 or 2 degrees F.So what do you think salt does to water in the ocean's
