Politicians are what they are.............no particular reason to hate them or love them, just a good reason to WATCH them. One thing they all have in common, they are all full of SH*T!

I am supposed to be impressed by that bio? Mike Harris is also a Senior Fellow of the Fraser Institute. The Fraser Institute is our version of the Heartland Institute and was founded for the same purpose: to disseminate ultra Conservative propaganda.

Manning founded something to "To identify, develop, and support political entrepreneurs who can advance our common vision of a free and democratic Canada guided by conservative principles.’
Entrepreneurs advance free and democratic ....conservative principles! Code for libertarian social structures and l.aissez-faire economics.

The rest of his bio has about the same weight. It might just as well have said that "He has read Ayn Rand and been a devotee of selfish arrogance ever since."

So what's the problem. Perfectly sound and rational thinking.

When will one of you try to rebut my statements. Health care cost increases are made up of: inflation, population increase, costs of new drug and other treatments, invasive and non invasive. And, from a changing demographic that is somewhat more costly.

Not one of you has even tried to refute that in your smart alecky infantilism.

6% almost certainly does not cover it. Less than that in five years is a deliberate push along the path to the end of federal involvement, and, of course, to Healthcare since the provinces do not have the capacity to generate the needed revenues.

This is the declared intention of Harper as was made explicit when it was adopted as Reform Party policy on 1989.

All of which indicates that our present health care model is unsustainable and in the near future we will have to decide how much the taxpayer can support an individual and how much a person will either have to pay for themselves or find a private insurer.
The same is true for education. We cannot provide free education for everyone that wants it. It may not be nice but it is a fact.

When digging a hole, ensure that you are not in it.

.

As for the first two pints, I have already laid out that case and I am waiting for a rational rebuttal.

So that is your problem. After two pints you are incoherent. Actually just more incoherent than before you started guzzling.

Politicians are what they are.............no particular reason to hate them or love them, just a good reason to WATCH them. One thing they all have in common, they are all full of SH*T!

When did cabbagehead add politician to his list of achievements?

Reading this thread, it's easy to see how a condescending asshat rubs everybody the wrong way;-)

As someone who only marginally gets 'involved' in these little online bitch slappings, lol, I find it incredibly funny.

Sitting back and getting a view of the big picture, one can easily see just how many of the members feel and react the same way as the individuals who partake in a little pedestal knocking fun. But often, to hear the "pedestal sitters" tell it, it's always only a few select individuals that think that way about them.

It is equal parts sad and amusing when they occasionally start to speak on behalf of the forum too.

Just a few things I've noted.;)

Very wise man indeed. :)

When digging a hole, ensure that you are not in it.

If you take a look at the Reform Party Caucus statement of 1989, written by Harper, you will find exactly that.

You really are just a blusterer and you will need more than bluster if you want to continue these exchanges.

As for the first two pints, I have already laid out that case and I am waiting for a rational rebuttal.

Find it.

Quote it.

Cite it.

Or STFU.

Because the Reform Party platform NEVER included a complete federal withdrawal from Healthcare.

Harper did NOT write a document promoting a complete Federal withdrawal from healthcare.

You are a liar.

I have called you on this three times now, and you have failed to defend yourself.

In the end, this will have to be added to the long list of claims that this clown troll has claimed, and failed to back up.

My favourite was the mysterious tanks posted along the Quebec border.

Well that and his being published in a UN article.

Then you will have to shout louder. I have told you where it is and you claim to support that Party.

Later, I may give you a couple more Harperisms about this but you can absorb that one first.

Interesting, though, how the usual ninnys are piling on. They have nothing to contribute: nothing to support any contradiction of what I am saying so they just try to ridicule and obfuscate.

Not that I'm a ninny, but we've come to the conclusion, you aren't here to debate.

You've been proven wrong so many times, and you've made so many unrealistic and ridiculous claims.

There's actually nothing left to do but mock you.

I enjoy shouting out the truth.

As for you, you have failed yet again to meet the challenge.

You can not cite the document, because it does not exist.

You can not cite the document because it has never existed.

You are a damned liar, and a fool.

And you lose the debate.

No obfuscation there.

are you completely blind? I have told you the document is the Reform Party Caucus statement of 1989. The official party doctrine.

Then there are these:

"I know this is a dangerous subject. My advisers say don't talk about iy, but the fact is that sometimes provinces have allowed in the past few years, they've brought in private services covered by public health insurance. Why do I care and why do we care as a federal government how They'rw managed. What we care about is whether people can access them. This is just an ideological agenda. In the leadership debate, 2004, conceding that he shouldn't talk about his positive view of privatization of healthcare."

And, "It's past time the feds scrapped the Canada Health Act. 1997 while Vice-President of the National Citizens Coalition."

And,"What we clearly need is experimentation with market reforms and private delivery options in Healthcare."

As President of the NCC.

And, "Withdraw from the Canada Pension Plan. Collect our own revenue from personal income tax. If Ottawa objects to provincial policy, fight it in the courts. Each province should raise its own revenue for health. It ism imperative to take the initiative, to build firewalls around Alberta."

Open letter to Ralph Klein, 2001.

THere are more but why bother. The case is clear.

I'm not going to bother with the rest of your bullshyte. Even discrediting this one statement by you is more than enough to discredit everything you say.

Liberal ad: Stephen Harper versus the Canada Health Act - Reality Check - Canada Votes 2011 - CBC News

I want to make this perfectly clear. I am NOT a conservative supporter. I have voted either Liberal or NDP pretty much my entire life. I live in Harpers riding, BUT, posting BULLSHYTE as fact is reprehensible.

Stuff it, gerry. That is a direct quote from Harper's past. You can easily look it up. Not only that, but you select one of the quotes and try to make a case. Notice that the only actual comment is that his colleagues can't remember him saying it. And think that it might have been Somerville. Harper wrote most of the material for Somerville - that is what he was there for.

Other people seem to think that Harper repeated it many times. You see, I happen to know something about Colin Brown and his influence on Harper - Harper's early mentor and the Godfather of his ideology. Brown's people at the NCC said that, and similar ideas repeatedly.

A direct quote, misspellings and all huh, right. Better edit it quick.

Bad grammar and sentence structure too.

Nothing i can see there on a search that supports Cabbage's bad spelling and grammar being made to look like a quote from a well educated man.

You are pitiful. Since a couple of you have turned this into a war, then it is clear that you have lost. You have nothing to offer in the way of battle so you throw stones from behind your basement walls. That was, as I said, his response to a point in the leadership debate.

As for Harper being an "educated man," that is moot. Is someone with an MA in economics an "educated man?" He is no more than the much denigrated "bean counter" some here are so fond of stereotyping.
