Ahh, beve, such long posts you post. And that's past. We need to come up with new and better ways, incorporating the best of all ideas from the old ways.
And Walter, every gov't based on dogma and hierarchy has failed. Except the U.S., right? Yeah, well, just watch. If you, personally, haven't been failed by them, well, you'll see.
I like the idea of a benevolent dictatorship myself.
Best of luck in 2008 to all. And I'll make a resolution here, now. If some big thing don't go down, and make things even worse than they are now, I'll eat my hat. Right here, on CC.

No such thing as a "benevolent dictatorship" FYI.

Socialism must work because everybody does it and everybody is still around.

Get used to socialism Toro, true to the work of Marx it's the logical result of capitalism and there's nothing you or anybody else can do about it. It's just economics ain't it. Next time you look into an outhouse pit (strange scatological analogy by the way) it'll be full of greenbacks, stock certificates, IOU's and other useless paper. Don't loose your shirt in the market man.

Boy, you have been brainwashed. (We absolutely need to upgrade our education system) Anyone with any understanding of history would understand that socialism in and of itself is not a good thing. It always starts out with good intentions but as mentioned earlier in this thread, you need to consider the "human factor" which is why it has always failed. As I've stated before, capitalism isn't perfect the it's the best we have and we continue to evolve. Look at the changes over the past 100 years!

Like an earlier poster stated, I grew up poor as well - my dad was a barber and my mom was a stay-at-home mom. We were definitely not rich or even "middle class" when I was growing up. While we didn't lack for anything - my mom was a genius with money. She canned food from our garden every year & dad hunted for game so we could survive winter. My mom sewed our clothing. I use the term "poor" because no one in Canada is actually really poor such as those in say, Sudan, or in other countries in Africa. Lets put it this way - we didn't have luxuries; we didn't take vacations to Europe or the US or Hawaii like some of my friends did. Our "vacation" was Christmas or Easter at my grandparents house.

My parent broke up & eventually divorced. Fortunately, my grandparents were the ones to come to our assistance and helped us move to be closer to them and to give mom an opportunity to upgrade her education and gain employment. My brothers and I couldn't afford to go into higher education after we graduated high school so both my brothers joined the military and I went to work - working two jobs; one full time & one part time. All three of us worked hard and now we have a comfortable life style; we took night classes. I later went to College for a year (that's all I could afford) after taking many night courses over the years and it helped me in my career. I know single parents who went to night school to earn their degrees and/or diplomas as well and it took a lot for them to work full time, look after their kids and go to school and all that it entails. Why should they give up anything for all their hard work?

I worry because there are those who are coming up after me, mostly Millennial's, are going down the wrong path. They don't know what "work ethic" is - but they certainly seem to have the "ethic" to demonstrate. Who knows what they could accomplish if they put their efforts into bettering themselves but I digress. They've been sold a "bill of goods" (aka lies) through the education system thinking that they have all the answers. Boy, are they going to be surprised if what they want actually goes through. They'll find that no matter how little or how much they work, they will not benefit from any of it. They will be forced to share with others whether the others contribute or not. They will soon be tired of either not working at all or working too much for nothing. It will not bode well for them. The so-called Leaders will be the ones who benefit from the peons working their asses off and will install legislation such that no one will be actually free.

That is the truth about the socialism they're talking about. In Canada, we have some social institutions but for the most part we have the freedom to either use them or pay to go elsewhere. That's the privilege we have living in this country. But jealousy seems to have entered into the discussion - jealous of those of us who have succeeded through hard work. They don't understand that (unless of course you inherit like Trudeau) most people who have become rich have done so through there own ingenuity and hard work. I know some rich people and they are extremely generous with their money and their time. How is it that some communities have institutions named after certain people? It's because said person donated money (or time) to benefit their community! But apparently that doesn't matter. Those same institutions will likely be forced to change the name because of someone's generosity was considered racist or some such nonsense.

Are there rich people who are greedy and don't care about the "average person"? You bet - take Hollywood for example (please) - how did these big actors get rich? By people paying for their films and music; attending their concerts; they're being paid for their talent. Why do they want to take more from you by supporting Marxism. You see, they aren't bound to stay if things get "uncomfortable" - they can leave and go anywhere in the world that they want since they have the means. But people who are scraping by, who rely on the government for support. Where can they go? Hell, where can I go for that matter. While I've worked hard, I'm not wealthy by any stretch and can't simply pack up and leave. Most of us can't. That's the difference between these thugs who want socialism and Marxism and the average person who simply wants to be left alone to do whatever they can to make a living, take advantage of the opportunities that are provided and have a good life.

The extremist Left, however, want what you have period. If you listen closely, they also condemn private ownership; you need to share with the "collective" everything you have and own. Screw the fact if you were frugal and saved for retirement and worked hard to pay for your home. Nothing belongs to you anymore. So beware - what's coming (if we don't fight it) is not going to be good. It has already likely gone too far in the U.S but it's here - just not as obvious yet - but it's here. I hope & pray Trump wins because if he doesn't all hell is going to break loose.

BLM and Antifa are the opposite of what they say they are. They are lying to the public by saying what they're against but they are all racists, bigots and fascists themselves. The fact that most of them are White should tell you that they aren't what they portray themselves to be.

Rant finished LOL

None of them know.

Its one of the prerequisites of also knowing climate change is a hoax and that only white people face discrimination.

You need a broad-based ignorance.
